Hello all,
I thought I should introduce myself. I have been a member of the board for about a year but have not posted much. I jump on every few days as I dont know a lot about these cars but am keen to learn. I am watching the Toy Peddlesrs build with interest... you are doing a great job mate. It looks like the board has been a fantastic resource for you as I am sure it will be for me when I realy get into the re-assemble aspect of my project.
I have a 70 challenger JS23U0B...... which was partly stripped when I purchased it about a year ago. I had it stored for the first 9 months until I got my shed built.
I now have it completly stripped but still rolling for ease of transport and am going to get it blasted in the next week or two.
My name is Danny and I live in Australia (Country Victoria).
If I have got it to work here are a couple of pics of my Dodge when I first got it home.

Hey Ian,
Thanks for the welcome. I believe it is the orginal color with rear bumble bee stripe and hood black out however somone decided to put a bumble bee stripe around the front???? I think both doors and one guard/fenda are off a donner as there is orange paint under the yellow.

I noticed your car some months ago when I was going through some of the pictures on here. It looks unreal man!!! The rear stripe over the green sets it off.

I really like that hood stripe with the band around the nose. I think if that had been an option at the time it would have been popular. I have to add though that I have very poor taste :mrgreen:

I don't mind the front stripe either but it will be gone in a week or so. I was hoping to have it blasted before xmus but things got a bit busy, now the blasting man has gone on holidays. If all the planets align it will be getting done next week.

I don't particulaly like the rear bee strip on Challengers to be honest. I have removed mine.
But they look totally horrible on the front.

The lines of the car run from front to back (as indeed they should always) and not up and down.
The Bee stripes just spoil those lines.

I can see the point of them on B-Bodies though. they tend to "shorten" the big rear end on a B-Body so it looks more sporty. the E-body came with a small neat rear end from the start. :wink:

once youve had it blasted youll have a better idea of how much work your up for most of mine was better than i expected except for having to replace the roof which while costly was a simple enough job

That makes sense about the stripes but I still love the rear bee stripes on the Challengers

I have had a good poke around the old girl so hopfully there won't be too many suprises under the paint. I know I have a bit of rust and pannel work ahead of me! I think that is just part of the deal with a 40 year old Mopar.
Where in Oz land do you live Ian?

It not near as sharpas a lot of the cars on the board here.........but one day hopfully it will be somwhere close!

My wife, her friend and I dove from Perth to Albeny a few years ago. Nice part of the world. Did a tree top walk in a forest somewhere over there too...that was cool.

yea that tree top walk in the valley of the giants is pretty cool it cost them a bit to set it up but it would have payed for itself a few times over by now its so popular hope you enjoyed your trip over here we feel priveleged to live here it is quite a good part of the world thats for sure

Took it to the blasting bloke today. He is starting on the doors, hood & gaurds later this week and doing the main body early next week. It should be finished by the time I get home mid next week.
He works in with a painter next door to him who is going to etch prime the lot as well.
