Hi all, just a newbie here! I've owned the car for a very long time and my husband just restored it for me this year. It's a '70 Challenger T/A matching numbers. Looking forward to meeting more Challenger lovers 8) Hope you all have a great Christmas!

I guess that the T/A always has been my favourite type of Challenger...

The green/green colour combo must be quite rare. I like it a lot!

Necksnapping performance, eh?

Btw; Is it 100% up to original spec?

Very nicely detailed. Did your husband do all the work himself? That is a top restoration job. 8)

When we went to see this car it was a project. A guy said he was selling his challenger that he was planning on resorting, but now didn't have the time.
When we went to see it my husband noticed a 340 motor on an engine stand with a six-pack setup. Not seeing any other motors I asked if the motor was for the car and was happy to here him say the motor was for the car. Closer inspection of the VIN determined this was a Challenger T/A. Motor was a T/A block that matched the VIN. The 4 speed lying in the corner also matched the VIN. Car had everything that a Challenger T/A was suppose to have. I checked the ownership (title) and sure enough everything matched… motor, transmission, fender tags, cowl, and rad cradle. The only thing the car didn’t have was the build sheet. The body was in great shape with very little rust having just had to replace the trunk pan. This was a Canadian specs (YO7) Challenger T/A that seemed to have survived the Canadian winters and salty roads without to much cancer. Owner advised that the car was originally from Regina, Saskatchewan. After about 3 hours of going through boxes, parts and general inventory we struck a deal and we came home with the Challenger T/A.
The color was orange when we bought it and I contacted the original owner for any documentation he had, he was a great guy and even sent me pics of when he owned it.
We had a friend's shop do the body work and paint and we re-did the seat covers, although I still have the original which are in great shape. My husband did everything else.

Barry Washington documented my car in the Challenger T/A registry in 2001, which showed that my color combination of F8 green paint and green interior with the 4 speed made it a very rare (especially since is was built to Canadian specs).

Below is a pic that the original owner sent me when it was green and the second owner who had it in orange, prior to his disassembly.

My husband works full time, but usually does 1-2 restoration jobs a year... because he loves to work on cars. If anyone has any questions or needs help, you can contact him. He does a lot of Cuda's, because those are his favorites. But he's always willing to help out anyone in need and is known as an expert.

I've been browsing through the posts and was drooling over all the cool classic cars that members have.
Thanks for the warm welcome to the forums :D BTW- My neck is almost better and I no longer need the neck brace  LOL

So you didn't know it was a T/A until you saw it? Wow I bet that was exciting when you realised what it was.

Well I think you guys have done a really nice job on that car. Congratulations on the result. It's stunning. 8)

Paid the guy right away, got our trailers and loaded it all up and drove like it was stolen...lol The car has had a lot of history for us, when we first got it, my husband was doing another car so we brought it to a guy (Denis Pillon) from Ontario to do the body and paint. We just happened to go to a local car show that weekend and we noticed DP at the swap meet with a trailer of car parts. When my husband started looking through it, he found some of our car parts from my T/A, he was trying to sell them. We were so mad, we grabbed all our parts, gave him some choice words and walked away. He threatened to have us arrested...LOL, anyways.. we got the trailer and took our car back right away. It sat for years as my husband did other cars. Finally I said "my car next"! It was well worth the wait.
