Postby Linka » 29 Aug 2007 19:14

Here I have some pictures of my "Beast" It´s a new paint on it, only 4 days old. 8) Thought you might want to see what I have been doing the summer here in the North Part of Sweden. Enjoy! :P

Image

That´s how it looked before I repainted it.

And this is how it look now. The paint is hte BMW M3 Dakaryellow. I didin´t manage to get the original paint which is Banana Yellow. But I think it look pretty much the same? Anyway I am pleased with the result.

Linka, the Paddock advertises pairs of re-pop 70 Challenger headlight bezels for 529.00 a pair. I have one original bezel left but it's heavily damaged.

Just one bezel Linka,(driver's side I believe), it doesnt matter, it has very deep scratches, and could possibly be repaired but at a very high cost,(250.00 for one repaired bezel). It would be cost effective to just get the PG classics or the Paddock ect..

Too bad you just got one of them. I am a carsheetmetal worker (don´t know if that´s the right word for it?) so I might could have fixed that one you have. If you got a pair I would have bought them from you. :) You don´t know anyone who got a pair of used headlight bezels?

Ok, thanx for the tip Eddie. I might buy a pair from him. But the best of all is if he could send them buy mail and as a "gift". In that way I probably won´t have to pay custom och taxes (which is alot here in Sweden). But cheapest way is if I found a pair of used ones from a private person which I could buy.

Getting them straight is one problem.
Getting them re-plated after is another.

Get the best ones you can find.

I like the yellow beter than the red. I personally wouldn't paint the bottom half black but it's your car. You can do what ever you want.

One thing I would do if I were you is spray the leaf springs black. You still have yellow overspray showing on them. I paint the leaves on my Durango every year. I also paint the hitch. It really makes a big difference. I just use real cheap spray paint for the springs and a better paint for the hitch.

Yes Burdar, I will spray paint the leafs black, might be doing that after the weekend. I have some other stuff I must too, like put in the spool, the fuelcell and the NOS system....

While you are spraying the leaf springs shoot some black onto the pinch weld along the bottom of each sill. The car will look much cleaner from the side.
