Trunk Carpet for Jimiboy

Postby patrick » 29 Apr 2008 4:31

Jimiboy wrote:You are a thrue gentleman Pat :D Very nice of you (but i dont want to be any trouble...)
No touble at all, Jimi. I've called the guy a couple of time's now. The only trouble is, getting him to call back. His folk's embarressed him last year in front of me. His mom and dad built the car 12 year's ago for a graduation present. And they told me ALL about it. This was after he told me he did most the work himself, with a little help from dad. I've seen rear carpet's simular to mine on ebay. Good luck. In the mean time, I'll keep checking.

New Bumper's

Postby patrick » 07 Dec 2008 23:46

Hey Guy's, I know that I've neglected to post, on this site for a while but, I've been very busy. :D Here are some pic's of the new bumper's, I got from Auto Metal Direct. Very good outfit. The new bumper's saved me about, $350.00. And are a very good fit. The old one's are safely tucked away, for future use. The bumperette's however, had to be rechromed. About, $250.00. "Starbright", in Vancouver, Wa., did a spectacular job! Here are the Pic's. 8) I decided to leave the front one's off, for a cleaner look.

Good to see you back Pat! The bumpers look spectacular! Ryley looks content but would probably rather be in the Ford-F100 Big Block on a long country road.(With the front chins and new sparkle it gives a rare Factory look without too much dazzle, Great job Pat)

Eddie, you couldn't be more right. We took these pic's just before going to the dump, for recycle. Ryley know's, this is the day of the run. We go to the dump then, I take him up to the hill's. Some of you might call these mountain's. Ask him if he want's to run. By now, he's all over the cab of the truck. Stop, and let him out. I'll make sure, I don't run over him, then... Hit The Gas!!! He's good for 25 MPH, for the first mile or so, then taper's off. He absolutley, love's this. He's a good boy. We've run into deer, elk, black bear and couger. Oh yes, I pack heat for that reason, alone. He'll stop and look but, return's to his objective, following that old white ford. Unlike my last Blacklab/Newfoundland mix which, I spent day's in the "Mountain's, for real", looking for him. That damn dog was as big as a deer at 169LBS. Two ounce's accounted for brain. But, that's another story.
Ryley is super smart! He doesn't like the Chally because, he's not allowed to ride in it. :s005: He won't mark the tire's though. He know's he'll get his ass kicked.
Sorry, Dave! This thread started with the bumper's then, cartwheeled into the pet thing. :s022:

Your car looks super Pat! I can see that your bumpers are giving your car that little extra.. :D

Ryley looks like a fine dog! Reminds me a bit of my parents dog, he is a Labrador / Golden Retriever mix... When you where meantion the speed i started thinking of the times he had the chance to follow when we was on trips with our snowmobiles.. He loved running while we where driving, and once i checked & he run about 18-19Mph.. This was in pretty challenging deep snow.. :D (Pretty amazing really what those little 4WD legs can achieve)

:V8:

Btw, i do not allow people with claws in my Chelly neither... :s006:

Your Chally looks really clean Pat. The spoiler is perfect, not too outstanding.

Thanks for the lead on the bumpers. They look really nice, I think you made a good call to leave the bumper guards off in front.

Jimiboy, I have some good news, for you. Google, or use whatever search engine you like and, type in "Lloyd Mats". It's funny, I spent a lot of time trying to contact the previous owner when, I had the answer the whole time. I found the tag under one of the mats after, spilling a sticky pop. Sorry for taking the better part of a year, to get back to you but, better late, than never.

Car's in great shape and ready for mild resto. Now could be the time for a long road trip. Close to 100,000 mile's on the odometer and, some bubbling in the lower quarters. Drivetrain...
Would love to do this before taking her apart. She can be a trailer queen later.

Same dilemma here Pat, whether to do it up right or enjoy driving.
Those 2 many years being out of commision would be a tough loss. :?

That and trailer queen is not in the cards for my gal. She's going to be driven.

Haven't done much to the car in the last year or so. Getting ready to investigate some bubbling in the rear quarters. Gonna have my body guy, grind them down and, see what's up. I think I know the answer but, I really don't want to patch the originals. :s005:

After investigating bubbles in rear, I had to replace both rear quarters. Brand new sheet metal in the rear end! My auto body guy did a great job matching the Y1 paint! :D
