Here's some pics of my challenger. When i took these I just got it back from the paint shop back in April. Their are some emblems missing, which were put on later.
I'm new to this board so I'll give a little introduction. I've had my Challenger for 6 years and have slowely made progress on it. It's a 70 R/T SE with a non orginal 440 6pack motor and pistol grip 4 speed.

Very nice. The '71 side stripe on it looks good. I always thought that was the best side stripe offered for the Challenger. Pity it was one year only.

Yea I really like the 71 stripe, that's why i decided to put it on. I think it makes the car stand out even more, although some people don't like it.

Nice car. I like the stripe as well. It matches the white B/B stripe .

That is a nice color of blue. I like the electric look. Stripes look good too.

Ditto the stripe! Nice R/T!!How does it run? What type of clutch do you use. I have a McCleod Street Twin.Is it cammed?
BTW, did it originally have a vinyl top?

At this point in time it runs okay, nothing impressive my grand prix gtp will out run it, but it needs an engine rebuild desperatly. It has the a stock cam in it for the time being. I have a centerforce clutch and Lakewood bellhousing, ujoint exploded and cracked the old one last year.
Next year's project is the engine, this year is suspension. So come next year I will be asking advice on engine combos. As of now I want the Eddie heads, from there I'm clueless.

If you are using the Eddie heads you want the pistons set at zero deck height so you have enough compression with them. But you will have to use 94 octane fuel or better.
Light pistons and H-beam rods on a stock crank.
Roller tip rockers on oil grooved shafts. Heavy rocker shaft hold-downs.
A cam with a slightly lumpy idle. Good headers. 2800-3000 stall converter (depending on the cam). Something between 3.55-4.10 rear gears so the engine will work on the torque peak. 750-850 Holley double pumper carb.
That would do the trick nicely.

Dave, were you looking over my shoulder as I have almost the identical engine you described.Stock 6 pack forged crank, polished and chamfered, arp studs, full groove clevite bearings, The block was bored and honed with torque plate for a total of 4.350, Eddies heads, Comp Cams Chrysler xx fast rate of lift with their complete k-kit and the pro-magnum roller rockers, Manley H-beam rods with Ross forged pistons and speed pro rings, zero deck for 10.5 comp. 94 octane with 34-36 degrees,(total) no vac adv. It's a great torquey engine with a good deal of "pull" on the top end. It does have a non stock "lope" at idle, power brakes work fine. ( cam specs are 288/301 duration 528 lift, it was a custom grind). This is a great street engine.
