TV Shoot

Spent a great day on Thursday filming at a pub just outside London. My car was used alongside several other Mopars in a BBC TV comedy series starring Steve Coogan. His character (an ex roadie, now a pest controller) drives a Mach 1 Mustang. In real life Coogan is really into American muscle cars, and wants to buy a Challenger. (He owns a garage full of Italian exotica). By the time we arrived at the location, the car park was pretty much full and all the cars had been arranged for the filming. I saw this weird looking guy hanging around the car (it was Coogan in fake beard and wig) who went over and had a word with the production team. He had told them to shift a Corvette convertible which was parked next to the Mustang to make room for my car! He was all over the car like a rash, and knew quite a bit about them. He sheepishly asked me if he could sit in it, and spent ages going over the car. The guest star for this episode was an American stand-up comic called Dave Fulton, who played a smart-ass know-it-all gearhead. Dave was into Harleys and old British bikes, and we really hit it off. The scenes were real funny, and I'm looking forward to seeing the series when it airs. We all got parts in the filming, playing muscle car owners! Great day out, met some great people and got paid as well!
