The code V1W appears twice on the fender tag. Why? :?

Because it is a LA built car. The tags from LA always show the roof paint or vinyl twice for some reason.

"The code V1W appears twice on the fender tag. Why?" Christer

"Because it is a LA built car. The tags from LA always show the roof paint or vinyl twice for some reason." Dave

To clarify Dave's reply - LA built cars show the body paint first on the second line and the roof paint OR vinyl roof code first on the third line just like Hamtramck cars do. What is different is that the LA fender tags have the vinyl roof code listed again as an option code alpha-numerically up on line 4 or 5 or even on a second tag like my R/T SE

Thanks for sharing! I don´t understand all of the abbreviations though. Can anyone help me? VC? CI? VH ute? VJ?

hi Christer
CI is the initials of the inerviewer
VC,VH,VJ are all models of aussie valiants the VC being an A body the other 2 are aussie only design but were pretty much based on A body a few were exported around the world in small numbers
the(red) shell at the top of the interview page is the VC

Aha, I see! My questions weren´t so stupid after all (I hope). :s006: That was a relief.

Do you swap the whole roof or just a part of it? I see that the middle section of the roof has been cut out.

OK. I had planned a follow-up question if you would stiffen up the body while you were swapping the roofs. No need to ask that question then. Good luck with the job.

roofs all welded in place now just a few sml patches on the A pillars then ill tidy up the welds & thatll have the rust in the top 1/2 of the car cured , thankfully i bought patch panels for the rear 1/4s , trunk floor & bottoms of the fenders itll make the job so easy ive always formed my own from sheet metal but it takes to long & its not as good
cheers ian

trunk floor is in ive cleaned it up since i took these pics once i put some thick black muck over the joins itll look just like the factory did it with the exception of the join in the middle
it is definately harder replacing the trunk floor than the roof
