Antony Haynes' unsold banana !

Hi guys.
I'd like to post this pic of my car (taken by my wife) outside our cottage in Hampshire..just thought it looked smart...
I put the car up on ebay recently and it sold but the deal fell through.
After having just come in from a run around the Somerset countryside in it, doing my bit for global warming, I feel like I never want to part with it and I'm glad it didn't end up selling...it's only got the 340 with a 4 speed but it's got the Edelbrock heads and manifold as well as headers and it just pulls like a train when you need to overtake.
Do any of the rest of you find the fumes come in through the open windows when giving it some welly?
At least I'll die happy even if I do end up going down with carbon monoxide poisoning.

Good wishes to everyone...

Neuralyser aka Antony Haynes.

I wondered if that car sold or not. Glad to see your still having fun with the old girl!
I have spent the last 6 months trying to track down where the fumes are coming in! I've come to the conclusion that it's a design flaw!
Here's a thread I started a while back on the same subject.

Yeah the exhaust gets sucked in a bit and you end up smelling it on your clothes all night. You think you like the car now but actually the truth is you are just getting addicted to the fumes.

It helps it the car is not running too rich and the crankcase ventalation system is in good order.

Thanks guy's...I kind of had come to the conclusion that it must be down to aerodynamics...I did wonder if it would be any better if I removed the squared exhaust tips and tried more standard tubular end pipes...probably not...I'm going to take a look at your thread bilko, but do have an idea I may have seen it on the board some time ago...if I keep the windows up it's like a fragrant rose garden in the car.... :disbelief:
