Just returned from the strip, with new trans and on street tires i did ET 14,4. I think it is not that bad as for 318, what you guys think ? I have completly no reference as the only competitor was my friend in 68 Charger with 500 stroker engine, that did 13,22.

For what you have, which is very very nice, an awesome performance! Road tests of the cars back in the day put it in the same performance level as many big block cars.

I have this strange feeling that it used to be better with my old carb that was speed demon 750, i though it is to big so i bought 650. But what i think is that with the old one was bettet on higher rpm. Do you happen to know how to choose correct Jet sizes for this carb if I do not have lean/reach gauge ?What kind of power valve would be the best for that ? During this week i plan to drop some weight from the car as i was racing with full fueal tank and a lot of stuff in my trunk  As to the speed i it was sth about 100 mph at the finish lane.

Ok Speed demon 750 is on the car and it seems it is better now on high rpm, i can really feel the difference. Will check Monday on the track Do you guys think going under 14 s is realistic ? Now was 14,4 s on street tires. I have reduced the weight about 80 kgs, installed slicks and installed bigger carb that is better with high rpm.
Do you think changing gears to 3,55 from 3,23 will make a big difference ??

I would go even steeper than that. 4.10's would really make a noticaeble difference. To check the jets without a O2 sensor or other sniffer types of equipment is easy. Post a pic of your sparkplugs. Do you know how to read them? After a high speed run, turn the engine off, pull an easy to get to plug and post a pic of it. Tan is good! Black is rich. White is Lean. (I am speaking about the insulator).

Will do !! After Sunday the i will check the plugs. Now i have 83 in the secondary and 76 in the front, i do not see black smoke so it seems to be OK. What is funny a friend of mine in Charger 500 stroker has smaller jets than i , his cam is slightly wilder than mine, with bigger jets he gets tons of black smoke under even light acceleration, engine is one year old all new. His carb is speed demon 850. Any ideas where is a good place to get 3,55 or 4,1 rear end ? for 8 3/4 diff ? i woul dneed to buy whole center section as i doubt anybody here can put it together. :(

Dave or Fabian would give better advice on where to get your 8 3/4 4.10 "butt" from. At least the shipping would save you quite a bit of money because the weight is so great on a center section,(differential). Here in the U.S. however, www.manciniracing.com and www.randysringandpinion.com are great Mopar rearend builders and offer quite a selection on performance built 8 3/4 rears. I dont know your budget Wojpi but that aluminum MoPar Performance butt is sure nice. It's stronger than the cast iron butt and lighter! Both places mentioned offer both 489 and 741 cased 8 3/4 MoPar rears.Judging by your top end M.P.H. you have a lower et potential. To take advantage of it, you have to have a good 60 FT. time to get a good E.T. 3.23's wont get you that. 4.10's will. You should be proud that your car is so fast for what you have to work with!! :V8:

Just returned from the strip. It was wet so times were not good as i had problems with start. After fitting new carb with bigger jets 83 /76, the time was 14,31 at 105,5 miles/hour, now i have used tires 275/60 R15 before was 255/60. Not bad as for wet track. Here are some pics. I won with my friend 73 challenger with 440, in !!

Very cool. That trap speed indicates a faster time is possible. Traction seems to be the problem. I like the mobile timer you guys have!

A 275/60/15 is about the size of a 10 x 28 inch tall slick. The size I use.

I think he means some rubber is rubbing the wheel wells,(lip), or he has too much Hosspowa! Wojpi, you can 'experiment with a calculator and your know tire offset requirements to find the largest tire possible. What this will do for cornering capabilities is unknown by me.

How are the rear coil-over shocks mounted at the tops? Is the top shock mount re-enforced in some way?

Yes there is a special mounting hardware that goes to the original mounting place for rear shocks and then is attached to rear frame rail, you mount the shock to this special plate. i`ll try to find a picture of that.

Are you sure that 2.49 time was not the 60ft time? That would sound about right. I doubt very much if it was the 0-60mph time. if you were doing 0-60npm in that time you would be doing 9s in the quarter mile.

The photos are excellent! 8)

Dave it is of course 60 ft time.0-60 time is around 5 s. Since you like the photos i will post some more
Now i am using Hossier 295/50 tires which are tremandous difference in traction comparing to Goodear 4x4 tire :). Unfortunatelly last race is 04.10 and i just can not be there to check, but from what i see now 1/4 time would drop below 14s for sure, i have almost no spining during launching, it is even hard for my poor baby to make a donut on this tires.
