It looks like you are quite handy with the welder, Onebadhemi. Are you doing all of the work yourself? I like the coilovers in the front! 8)

A very cool looking car. Thanks for showing us that.
Please don't take offence and anything I am about to tell Christer.

What you are looking at there Christer is the AlterKtion front end conversion.

http://www.bigblockdart.com/alterktion/index.shtml

It is a very good bit of kit and 200% better than the Magnumforce engineering tubular thing that uses the weak shock tower as the upper suspension mounting point. Those things can kill you.

The main reason for this front end is to give header clearance in big block a-bodies which has always been a very difficult issue.
A bonus feature is the R&P steering and the light weight of the whole thing.

However I have two worries about it for use on a street driven car.

There does not seem to be any diagonal strut to control fore and aft wheel movement on the control arm bushes. This means the wheels will toe out under braking.
There also does not seem to be any provision for a front sway bar.

So basically if you want a car that can drive fast on roads and go around corners at anything other than pedestrian speeds don't fit a kit like this.

Yes, I have done everthing my self except the alterkation system which is a bolt in system.I have to finish fab. the motor plate and mid plate in to the chassis then I will start the body and paint. I' am building the car for the strip and very little street use "car shows".The engine will be 605" KB Hemi hoping to run 8.50's to 8.30's in the qrt. mile.

Dave-r No offence taken Everbody has there own opinion. :D

GOOD! :D I don't want to put you off the board when you have only just arrived.
Most people would say I have too many opinions. They are most likely right.

But what I said is not my opinion. It is fact. Basic chassis stuff. The system is fine for drag racing but any other kind of racing or real street driving it would be "interesting" to say the least. You would get away with it just driving around town at low speeds but any high cornering or braking forces would show up it's limitations quite quickly.

You can't make physics go away just because you don't want to believe in it.

However Pro Street has never been about making a good handling machine has it. It is all about making a street legal Pro Stocker. You are well on your way to making one wild looking ride. :D

Well, with that said we can leave it at that. :)
I'am sure that bill reilly the founder of the AlterKtion could go into more specifics.

Thanks for the welcome! :D
