Dave; Its' a 340/727/8 3/4 car, originally a 318/904. One of the two sold new 1974 in sweden. When i bought it 7 years ago, it had udergone a restoration (unfortunatley by an complete amateur, you know, the standard: metric bolts and stuff everywhere)

Since its' not even close to being a original car (and who wants a stock 74 318 challenger with 150hp?)i decided to turn it into a daily driver for the summers. This coming winter its' finally in for restoration number 2, ive' been collecting parts for the last two years to be able to rebuild everything. Its' hardly in show condition but everything is maintained properly and i drove more than 7000 miles last summer without a problem. (except that fuel leak, i think you know which one i mean, the tank empties fast but there seem to be no visible puddles anywhere?? any suggestions?)

Looking forward to another great summer here in the uk, i will try and attend as many meets as possible. For the euro nationals some of my friends are coming over from Sweden to join in.

Ok, finally home after the 1100 mile journey from the U.K. to Sweden. Car went well exept the dumbass driving running out of gas in belgium..

Paintjob was fnished 3 days prior to the trip home (last week) and this will be the only preview before project Challenger GTS is finished next spring, since im' keeping most modifications under wraps. The coulour is House of Kolor Galaxy grey metallic, and it was taken in the que to the car ferrys between Puttgarten and Rodby.

That paint goes with the wheels much better than the last colour I think Freddie.

No matter how many times I see a Challenger it is always striking how timless the styling is. OK it is overtly 1970's but here is something they got right first time. Like the E-type Jag the Chrysler E-body will always stir a young mans (and the young at hearts) soul. I love seeing them in traffic with modern cars. They really show how sexless new cars are.

Thanks Dave! I have to say in my opinion there is nothing with a more agressive look than a challenger, the cudas are ok but they dont' have the lovley swage line running down the sides. Since i saw this car the first time when i was 18 i knew i had to have it. I turned 20 before having time to get a driverslicence, and the day i got it i went straight over to the guy who owned this car and offered him a wad of cash. Luckily he accepted, and this challenger became my first car. Now that i own another mopar (66 satellite) i still havent' bought a "normal car"!

Its' amazing how people stare, slow down, and honk when they see you driving down the motorway.
wherever you go someone asks you what kind of car it is, or they go "i love your charger".... i blame dukes of hazard!

We must meet up for a beer and a chat next year, would be nice to have a look at your car; it seems well sorted!

Im' ripping the front end apart as we speak, to install new bushings, torsionbars etc.
Check out the Baer brakes system i bought, fat discs or what?

Take it easy, and prepare to answer dumbass questons when i get in trouble later...

What diameter are those discs? You will be glad when you have installed polygraphite bushings. They really make the car drive better. Have you installed chassis connectors yet? They are a must if you are going to drive it hard.

Good to know that you made it back home without too many dramas or mishaps. Thanks also for your Email about the parts. Secured an Overdrive Box for the D*ster (Must not swear on a Challenger Board!!!) so that combined with your offering should make for a great combination.

Hopefully the end result will be worth the investment... Went to my friends garage today to pick up my 340 block he has been welding for me, and guess what he had sitting in the corner of his workshop... a spare viper v10 from one of Henric Roos viper gts race cars.. and its' for sale.. hmmm... this thing pushes 730bhp with the restrictors in place, sure would kick ass in a challenger! Sure wish i didnt' have to do everything on a budget as well!
Also went to pick up the rear wing from composite design, and the guy who owns the company wants to sponsor me with a carbon fibre bonnet. That will shave quite a few pounds off the weight, so im' a happy bunny!

Anyway, ill' keep you posted on the progress and throw in a few pictures as i go.

Dave; the front discs are 13", and the rear discs are 12". Its actually a "budget" system, front and rears including stainless hoses, aluminium front hubs with new arp wheel studs and a new master cylinder cost 2100usd. There are upgrades like alcon 6pot calipers and stuff, but then it goes a bit mental pricewise.

No, you guessed right, im' not married, but i do have a better half; fortunatley she's in the States at the moment so i have another 2 weeks to dig in. Kids? dont' have time!

Engine and gearbox is out so tomorrow the front suspension comes apart and then hopefully together again before the weekend. Im' running a tight schedule here.. lol

car looks amazing who did the paint job and how much did it cost.

You are going to kill me.. i threw them away! they were badly pitted down the sides so they had to go! Ive' got a new set and i can possibly get you a set for 155 GBP and bring it or send it to you.

Sweet car freddie! What size tire and wheel combination is that on your challenger? I'm in the process of building 72 ralley challenger for pro touring and your car has that perfect stance!

I would also like to know what your rims and tires are and what springs you used on the rear to get it to sit low. with the tire fully under the wheel well, how wide were you able to go? thats exactly how I want my car to look. I really like it.

The wheels are custom halibrand replicas, 3-piece.
8X18 with 225/40/18 front, 10X18 with 295/35/18 rear. XHD mopar leafsprings with 1" lowering blocks. It looks lower than it is due to the size of the 18" wheels.

what inch backspacing are your rear rims. did you move your springs inward? do you have a rear sway bar?

Please tell me about the 5 speed. Is it in yet, and are you doing it yourself? Also, when you do get it in, how does it shift? Is it like an old muscle car (long throws) or smooth and short like modern cars?
