Hey there Glen,

Your car looks Sharp! Kind of familiar too. Were you at the MoPars Unlimited Car Show in Bellevue Washington in 2000?
I parked right next to a Challenger that looks just like yours during that show.

I guess it could have been! I just bought it in sept 02 from a dodge dealer in massachusetts never trust a dealer to give you all the info you ask for. Also I took off the air because my dash is not set up for it any more some day I will have all the parts to put it back on!!

What badging do you have on the front fender under the Challenger? I could see something but couldn't read it. The reason I ask is that I didn't think anything went there on 1971's if it was an R/T, as the side stripe sufficed the R/T identification.

Your car is simply stunning in yellow. I may ask more follow up questions on the engine, but my quick input is the car is sharp!

The factory never put a chrysler emblem on the drivers side fender so that is ok.

Glenn, I don't know how much in line with what was original or not, but in 1971 the R/T did not go under the Challenger. I didn't think I'd ever seen one, but I just opened up my brochure for 1971, and it proves the point. Or, if you can trust the brochure that is! Actually, the car they provided as an example of an R/T is the same color and striping as yours, except they had a black vinyl top on it. Dave, of course, is right. That pentagon star is or was always on the right front fender.

So is this an R/T car or a clone? I know you were asking about the dash. Nice car either way.

just above the second pic it says it is not an rt but you can't tell from there just kidding it is rather well optioned but not a true rt it is the color that it came from the factory with and has been repainted not by me. I was told that all rt's came with a rally dash standard that may be the give away along with the vin. thanks for the info. the rt emblem on the fender kinda of sets it off rather nicely I think!!
