Currently being reassembled, here are some of the first pictures of my brothers Challenger.

1970 Challenger R/T, 440 4bbl, Automatic, Panther Pink (FM3), Pink Stripe (V6M), Rallye Guages, Rallye Wheels, Rear Spoiler, Dual Mirrors, Console, Light Package, AM 8 Track with 3 speaker dash.

Oh, my! This is going to be something else! My pedals have never looked that good! But everything had to be new once, right? This one is new again! WOW!

Gord, what's up with the fender tag? Is this a clone?

It is not a clone. The Pink paint, Pink stripe combination is original if that's what you're referring to.

That combination has got to be very rare. How your brother found this car has got to be a good story, Jeff.

Yes, it is an uncommon combination from what we know.
The story is not especially unusual. The car came out of Kansas a couple of years ago. It was in storage since 1978.

I was referring to the part of the fender tag that looked mangled. Since I'd seen a '71 440 6 pack convertible marked "Clone" I guessed if the numbers were blanked out that this could be as well.

It's fantastic to know it's a real Pink Panther!

I blurred out the seq/vin numbers with a graphics package.

It's my brothers car... I'm just posting for him on this board. He does read this board though. This is his fourth Challenger restoration project and my second.

You are correct Tom. Will you be going to the Milton cruise on Sundays? Looking forward to seeing your car, my favourite colour!

I play baseball in Brookville on Sunday nights but I hope to go to a few. I got the car on the road in Sept. Still some minor work left but should be ready come spring. I really wish I had a great heated shop like Glen's.

WOW, this is a car for a clean garage with a large window right to the livingroom.

Gord, does your brother keep this car as a collector or is he selling it, when it is finished ?

I know it's been a while since he's restored a car of his own so my guess is that he may enjoy driving this one for a while. Time will tell.

We managed to get in a decent amount of work in on the car today. Installed the drivetrain and about 80% of the front suspension assembly. Here are the drivetrain installation pics.

Gord, you're building one fantastic car, and it's fun to watch it come together!

My yellow lab hasn't been that close to my car. I've got to admit your name is fantastic for a lab! I thought my Samson was a great name, but you've got one that could be stronger!

My brother is happy with the way it is coming together. Slowly but surely it's starting to look like a Challenger again. Yesterday was installation of the headliner and glass day. A little bit of trim installed makes a big difference after looking at all that pink for so long.

There's still lots of Winter left here so there's time. It should be ready for driving season in May.

Will keep posting pics as we make progress.

Great looking car. I currently know of 5 FM3/V6M Challengers, though one of them is reported to be a rebody. (2 - 440+6, 2 - 440, 1 - 383). I also know of one FF4/V6M hemi car.

Do you have any pics from before you started the restoration?

This car is awesome looking. Excellent job. If seeing a car of this calliber doesn't give you spring fever and want to go out to your own garage and tinker on your own car, then I don't know what would! Man...that's sweet!

I recently saw a picture of an SE out West that is the same colour combo.

The only pre restoration pictures were taken on film and I don't have a scanner. We have more digital pics to post but haven't gotten around to it. The car's almost done, just shy a couple of key parts.

I found a right up about a 70 panther pink with the pink side stripe. It was in the Mopar Action June 2001 issue. Think your brother would like to trade for a Cuda and a Dart (ha ha).

Thanks for posting that pic Jennifer. I found a picture of a convertable at a 1970 auto show with the same colour combo. I'll have to see if I can find it again and post it.

The assembly of the car is now complete. The electrical systems were tested today. All that remains is the front end alignment, fireup and Ministry certification/licensing.

I'll post the final pictures after that's all done hopefully this week.
