This weekend, I was lucky enough to acquire the book "Drive it! - The complete book of british dragracing" by David Hardcastle & Peter Jones. It was first printed in 1981. I saw my first dragracing event the same year so I recognize many of the cars and many of the drivers. Niceeee! I thought I would post some pic´s of the Rossi/Hauser car.....Hope you don´t mind!?

In the december 2012-issue of Mopar Action, you will find a small picture of the Rossi Challenger on page 43. It is great to see that the old race car still gets some attention. I had not expected to find a picture of it in Mopar Action.

I read somewhere that it has found its way back to the States though. A large sum of money was involved in the transaction. I wonder how much? Does anyone know who the current owner is and where the car is located? One thing that is annoying me is that I did not take the chance to see it while it had a swedish owner. Sigh!

( What was Mopar Action thinking about when they wrote the text below the photo? A Plymouth Superstock? I did not believe that Mopar Action was capable of doing such an error? Have they hired some chevy guys or what? )

I pretty certain that a member of our English club, the MMA, has the, or one of, RB wedge from this car.
It's Martin, Dave, he says the motor hes got for his tube frame glass Dart is a Koffel built ex Rossi/Hauser motor

That's what I was told when I bought it from Dale Ade, (except it's not an RB it's a 400 block). I picked up the log book for the engine from Dale at the NEC last month and I've been meaning to call Jeff Hauser to confirm the history on the engine.

I got a very pleasant surprise when I opened a magazine I just had bought (Fuel magazine: #1, 2011). On page 23 and 25, there were two photos of the ex Rossi/ex Hauser Challenger. Talk about jackpot. I had no idea of what was inside the magazine when I bought it. I just bought it because I like the magazine and because I collect them...

The first of the photos is taken in 1982 when the car had its Sunoco advertisement and was raced by Sylvia Hauser. That year Sylvia raced in the modified class and won the final at 6,56 against Alan Newtons loosing 7,45 (1/8 mile I assume).

Both photos below are taken at Le Mans, France.

The second photo is from 1983, when the car had Gabriel Red ryder advertisement on it. She took yet another win in the modified class that year.
