Newbie needs help switching to tilt steering

Postby charger73 » 11 Jan 2012 14:33

Hey everyone. I hope I'm posting this in the right place, if not, can someone help me with this please.

I have a 73 Dodge Charger SE that has a straight steering column and I am wanting to change to tilt steering. It has the console T-shifter. Can anyone tell me what donor cars (makes/models/years) would have a compatible tilt steering column that I can switch out to, because I cant afford a new one from Flaming River or Ididit. Thanks.

Try looking at something like a Chrysler Imperial or similar from around the same period.
The Dave giveth and the Dave taketh away.

Possibly another B body from the same era such as a Coronet, Satellite etc?
These are on Ebay as I type this;

Another option is to take measurements of your column and hit the junkyard.
If you know where you can find a copy, get look in a copy of the Hollander Interchange manual, it should tell you what will interchange with yours (can be found at many junkyards and libraries, not sure about online interchange manuals).

Forgot about this one. I think I have it at home but I'm not there and won't be until the weekend http://www.amazon.com/Chrysler-Intercha ... 0760304203
