Posted: 20 Oct 2008 17:10 Those 380/360 5.9 magnum crates are a powerhouse engine. They have always made more than the reported 380 H.P. rating! A 12 second ride I'm sure! I have one in my W-150 4x4 Dodge truck. It's been faithful for 10 years. No problems ever!

Posted: 21 Oct 2008 16:01I think the 390 H.P. version has the big valve 2.02 heads. It will say R/T cast into the head near the outer bolts towards the front of the casting.73challengerguy wrote:thanks alot mopeheads .......i luv it.......its dam near perfect....a show car actually....thats where i seen it over two months ago......the owner did drive it so it has a very few lil road scars...gonna touch them up though.........eddie im confused...ive seen two different articles on that motor.....380 and 390 hp???......but the cam specs and heads were advertised the same???

Posted: 21 Oct 2008 17:41You mean did they make a 380 horse and a 390 horse the same year? I think they did for while. Just look on the passenger side of the block, it should have MP part number on it somewhere. Then just match that number to the various MP parts catalogs on the crates available. Either way that engine doesnt disappoint for how little they cost and how easy they are to setup out of the box.73challengerguy wrote:any year difference....did they make both the same year....i think this motor from late 90's early 2000's
