We've got a Landseer that will lay down like that and only move his eyes (nothing else, not even his head) when he wants to look at something. Can get pretty weird looking at times. Black head, black eyes and you can make out the white around the edge of his eyes when he rolls them up to look at you sitting in a chair.

Er, yeah........
Munchety crunchety
He's a bugger for eating things.
A frog last night, beat up a hedgehog a few days back & murdered some random pigeon last weekend.

I'll try and remember to put up a pic or two later of the whole crew; two Great Pyrenees, two Landseers and a Shih Tzu. The Shih Tzu grew up with the older Great Pyrenees and thinks it's a Pyr also. It's great that it doesn't have that little dog attitude.

Candy is on the couch on the left, Sneakers is on the left side of the rear couch with Baby next to him and Cookie and Cosmo (the cat) are on the bed on the right. The four big dogs each weigh between 140 and 165 lbs or so.Iggy (the Shih Tzu, not in the photo) weighs around 12 lbs or so but growing up with Sneakers he doesn't have a little dog attitude. He thinks he's a Great Pyrenees and has no fear.

I don't think an uninvited guest would make out to well here. Candy just plain doesn't like strangers. All the rest of the gang is leery of strangers also. They even stick close when people we know come by if the dogs don't know them.
Had a salesman come to the door two weeks ago. He knocked on the door after opening the storm door. The door wasn't closed all the way and when he knocked, it partially opened. The dogs were already behind the doors barking away and when the door partially opened, he was met by four big ( and one small) sets of teeth. He later said he must have jumped back three or four feet from the door. The dogs didn't attack, but he was, no way and no how, going to get through that door!!
The gang is real good about stuff like that. If even a stiff breeze tries to lurk, they're on the job

Sounds like you have a great home security system. When someone comes to our door, our cat lets us know by running under the bed to hide.
