Setting the record straight – lies printed in MCG

I just caught wind of this today. In the May 2009 Edition of Mopar Collectors Guide on page 120, a statement is made about The Challenger T/A Registry & myself. I’ll quote it here;
"We can't say enough about how well Group Five pulled off this car, but we'll let the data speak for itself, along with the fact that Challenger T/A registry operator Barry Washington has decided to recognize these as the "new generation T/A Challengers" and each one will be entered in his worldwide online database of original T/As.”
The section in italics is a lie, I never said that & I have no intention to do that.
I did meet with Group Five at Carlisle last year, they wanted me on board so that my name would be attached to the car for their advertising. A registry was also discussed. I explained to them that I had no interest in the new Challengers at all, & I explained to them that I lost enough money running the T/A registry for the classic versions as it was. I told them I could do something similar for the new cars if they had a way to pay me for my time since they were going to be making money at it. At the close of the meeting, I told them to figure out what it was worth to them & hit me with a proposal. I did not hear from them again.
I have no way of knowing exactly how or why that statement came to be printed in MCG, but it is false.
Also, I do not keep an “online” registry, not even for the real T/As, the database is not publicly available due to privacy concerns of the car owners.
I am not pointing any fingers, I am not mad, I am just stating the real facts so everyone knows. If you own one of these new cars & try & register it with me you are wasting your time & mine.
I do believe that the MCG staff should contact the people they mention in their articles before going to print to check the facts. I do it with the stories I write, it is common courtesy & responsible journalism. Is that too much to ask?
Very sincerely,
Barry Washington at The Challenger T/A Registry
