Mod of the Day: Dodge Challenger With Shaker Hood From Cervini's Auto Designs
Date posted: 05-27-2009
VINELAND, New Jersey — Cervini's Auto Designs, the custom hood specialist, has released its new Shaker Hood System for the Dodge Challenger that increases airflow on the third-generation muscle car.
The system comes with two parts: a hand-laid fiberglass Shaker Hood and a Shaker Scoop that is mounted on top of the engine. Cervini's precut the hood to make sure that bolting it up with all the OEM hardware wouldn't be an issue. Air will flow through a 9-inch high-flow conical K&N air filter, and vinyl hood stripes will also be an option.
Pricing starts at $1,599 for the unpainted system, and matte black or silver paint adds an extra $100. Cervini's will paint the hood in the color of your choice for $349, or $1,948 total.
The Shaker Hood System will be available for both 5.7-liter and 6.1-liter Challengers beginning on July 13.
Inside Line says: The Shaker Hood system gives the Challenger a hot-rod look for a moderate price. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
