09 SRT Challenger

Quick, you had to order the most 'collectable' Factory produced 2009 Dodge Challenger. Money was no object, you had unlimited funds, what model would it be? I choose the 2009 SRT, 6 speed, Hurst Special Edition, stage V edition with 589 H.P. blown, pearl white. This one!!! http://www.challengerblog.com/category/ ... challenger scroll down to specs and the series# 5 it only comes in pearl white and is 572 Hosspowa and of course the pistol gripped 6 speed. :twisted:

It has to be a factory authorised production model that can be ordered from any Dodge dealership. This will be an investment grade purchase and stored in a maintenance facility with other rare cars. Which model would you order? The gentleman I know wants to order one because he thinks Chrysler is on thin ice and ready to fold up. Thanks for your input,,,,Eddie

That's a hard decision but I think if I had the means and desire to buy one just to park, it would be one of the Pro Stock cars. Definitely a stick version too.

I'll suggest that to him Barc, but I think he wants a street legal version of one although that would be a nice choice for investment purposes if they went bellyup, I think.

I called him and he wants to order the car tomm!(Mon. Morn. 21 Dec.) he said he didnt want a drag only car, but wanted something rare. Keep the sugg coming Barc or anyone else,,thanks

ok if a person asked you say about 5 to 7 years ago if they would ever build another challenger,my response would have been no,
also to have one of the last rear wheel drive cars from a company that didnt build one for along time that would be cool,
its a turn key, full on 400 plus horses that you dont have to do any thing with,it runs,high tech,probably all around better car that the old challys,
priced to high will hurt there value in the long run,ill wait for a used ont if i ever bought one,
the old ones will still be worth more due to alot of obvious reasons,but something about the other day my wife did a double take when she saw a black one sitting on the front row ,it is tempting.......................

When Chrysler announced that they will be building new Challenger I was wondering how late it will be compared to others before on market, much like old Challenger arrived late. Given current global financial situation, near bankrupt US car makers and treehugger campains against everything I wouldn't be surprised if new Challenger production will end soon.

I'd definately go for the white, Hurst edition. I saw a concept 09', T/A with metalic blue paint, complete with the T/A stripe package. Very cool! :thumbsup:

If I had the money, I'd get one of each. :biggrin:

I could go with any 09 SRT in TorRed or silver or black with a blacked out hood and automatic tranny. Don't care of options or custom styling or tuning. :s002:

Well, if money is not the issue, I'd go for one of the following :
- the G5/R version ( http://www.g5challenger.com/ ), Posey version or black, twin-turbo, etc. Lots can be done, custom-wise.
- the Stage 3 supercharged Speedfactory version.

Thanks to all for the advice, even Dave, lol, I spoke with the dealership as soon as I got up. They didnt even know about them. The gm told me he can order one but doesnt know who to contact. I'm on it. The man that has the money picked the Hurst Edition series #5 with blown 6.1 Hemi and it HAS to be a manual shifted car. He wants a 6 speed to go along with his original T/A 70 Challenger. I told him about that luscious Sam Posey model Fabien, but he wants something more 'tied' into the Dodge Dealer program even though the T/A on the link you provided said they could be ordered through select Dodge dealerships. I wish I could show you guys this mans collection of rare American Muscle cars, 80% are Mopars. Many Hemi models a a few 1970 E-Bodies, 2 Cudas and 1 T/A Challenger.

Another option I'd look for (though they were auto only) would be an '08 SRT8, the first of the new Challengers.

He's a lot like me Barc, manuals are the only way to go. :wink:

A Bently Continental GT Speed - would look great next to my '09 SXT Challenger and '06 SRT8 300.
( I do like the Aston idea tho' ...)

I would rather have the old Bentley Continental T like a guy in my club has. Not many of them about though.
There are a few Mopar racers from Crewe in England (where Bentleys are made) that either work for Bentley of have done apprenticeships there. Good lads all of them and they love their Bentleys. :s017:

The Bentley Continental T I am on about had 650 ft·lbf of torque. Duncan Watts in our club has one and I think his is the even rarer Mulliner version?

The Continental T was a 2+2 coupé developed from the Bentley Continental R with a more athletic outward appearance due to a 4-inch (10 cm) shorter wheelbase and extended front and rear wheel arches.

The interior featured an engine-turned dash with chrome-finished instruments (as opposed to the wood finish in the Continental R). The Continental T's engine responded to a separate push-button starter.

The Bentley Continental T Mulliner was introduced in 1999. Modified shock absorbers in combination with stiffer torsion bars (front +40%, rear +20%) increased the Continental's handling ability.

Production figures are;
Continental T (1996 — 2002): 322
Continental T Mulliner (1999): 23

with less than 500 hundred of those bad ass cars made it would be a rare sweet ride for alot of money,i guess we pleebes will have to settle for less :s024:

maybe that" black chrome" paint that i have only seen once or twice would look sweet :thumbsup:
