Does a Black R/T challenger with MANUAL Tranny exist?

Postby Igydigital » 14 Oct 2008 16:49

I have looked everywhere and either they stopped production but at least in the state of florida there is no Black R/T with a manual transmission. A thousand black automatics, but no 6 speed manual transmission. What do you guys say? The dealers don't know what to tell me, and neigher does dodge. But their website sais they exist.......

Is ordering one a good idea? Can I get the same deal and savings I would if I were buying it at the dealer right there on the spot? Thanks in advance - Igydigital

Very clever eddie. But not funny. That would be horrible to mix a high performace challenger with low end garbage!

(I do like the idea of maybe being able to afford a camaro, though.)

And yeah, all 08 challengers are automatics, no sticks until at least 09.

Arent they introducing a bigger hemi for the 09 or 10 model year, too?

Yes they do exist. There are at least 3 of the 2009's/6 speed's on E-BAY right now.. That would be a sweet combo.

There is a hold on manual-equipped Challengers right now. Seems there's a quality control problem with halfshafts.

Yes, I'm afraid it's true. I am for it if it means that this would be the only way for survival among the US based car manufacturers. If something isnt done soon it will be all over for the big 3. I remember my parents buying a new T.V. back in the early 70's. Dad asked the salesman about the Curtis Mathis T.V.s,"His reply was it was the only American made T.V. left in the market. It cost 2 times as much as the Japanese T.V.'s and broke down frequently. We bought an RCA! They still have it! :s024: Curtis Mathis doesnt exist anymore. The global market and consumer demand will dictate who survives. Without some major consolidation, they wont make it.

Sorry if I offended you MoparMan1972, I was just trying to be funny in a grave situation. I am 100% pure MoPar! Except for the 1962 2 door post Biscayne Chevy my Aunt left me in her will. It deserves the solid front axle, trumpet stacked 426 Hemi that will go inside it's gut someday, I even have a name for it--Nasser's Gasser)

This is a very grave situation indeed Eddie. It is hard for me to find humor when GM is brought up! :disbelief: :D

And that would be one of those cars that screams badass, your nasser's gasser idea. I like it.

Not good. So If my dealer actually receives one, there's a good chance it will be defective?

Can't I just order one from the dealer and wait untill it arrives meaning they will take their time to produce it I assume? Not sure how it works..
