What the new Challenger should have looked like?

Postby dave-r » 27 Mar 2008 13:44

My mate Jeff Brown took this photo of the new Chally (left) and photochopped a few inches out of the bodywork (right).

I agree with him that this is the shape that the new Challenger should have been. It is just too tall in the sides.

Would you agree?

Hmmm.
I see your point...
The comprison picture should have been with a traditional chally having the power bulge (R/T-hood),...and a rear Go wing spoiler (clothes hanger).
Do you know the wheel size on that 72 onwards chally ??
I think the old chally could do with bigger wheels.....
I felt it looked dwarfed somehow....

I put my self up as a buyer of "I hate the new challenger" T-shirt
....not that I hate it,...but I could do with a new shirt...
.....saw a lot if "I hate the new Charger" T-shirts at the nats in Ohio in 2006...
This shirt would need to show both models,....but making the new one look like a whimp.....

I agree. The 2008 appears like most other new cars on the road with the tall sides. :disbelief:

I feel i agree... I think the old challys look very best compared with the new ones, but i dont think it is necassary to compete in anyway.. They are both mopar products  8) I would love to have a new one like a daily driver.. (But i will never in hell get rid of my chally to have a new one) :p:

But when i give it a extra thought, i don't really think they could have done the body less high, with those big wheels. And they sort of belong to these new cars..The whole body are so big compared.... it looks NICE! :D
Naah, the guys who drawed it knew what they did.. either love it or...

IMO it looks good both ways.. I am not a fan of a "GO WING" so i would never want one with it..

big wheels or not it is allot better than any of the other BIG 3 has to offer..

But what is the price on this car? Please do not tell me it is over $32k...

i have a short story, i was crusin in my black chally , and was all of a sudden surrounded by presidential secret service suv,s and there was one behind me , one to the right of me , and one in front, these vehicles are very distinctive as they are all black, well the one behind me went around me and then they bolth did there little wup, wup with there sirens ,and they pulled abruptly in front of me ,and then the light ahead of me turned red, so pulled along side of them and all those secret service guys were checking out my ride , i mean all those dark glesses were pointed my way , as well as the republican canditate john mcain , he was on the phone and gawking at my car too! what a rush about 12 dark glasses looking at me and john mcain doing the look too !
