I think I have mentioned this before, my dad is the senior service advisor at a large Dodge/Jeep dealership here in Ohio. Anyway, his dealership has on order 2 Challengers and will be getting them in early spring. I will get some real good pics as soon as it comes in.

Hey David! Cool, any pics will be appreciated. Are you going to have your Challanger there when the transport comes in?

They announced the pricing for the limited 2008 Challenger SRT at $40,095. I am sure the dealers will then add on more. I am still going to wait for the full line up to come out later next year.

Wow, only 2 Challengers for a large dealership. Sounds like ours will be lucky to even get One.
$40-50k for an SRT would seem to be a good deal considering the technology, comfort, 10 year warranty, and the POWER that goes with it. I assume there will be the same Chyrsler warrenty for the Challenger?

BTW: It would be cool to get a picture as the first one rolls off the car carrier.

 Thanks for the insight.

$40K...that aint so bad....but with VRT and import duty to Europe Id say that would double.

They are planning an open house and I had offered my car to be displayed beside it for the opening. They all know the car, I have had it their for display before.
If it's snowing here, getting my car their might be more trouble than it's worth, we'll just have to see.

Same here David. Mine is supposed to be there when we get ours in. They are making a commercial and they want my car to be in it.We have a dragstrip across the street from the dealership but it will of course be closed for winter season. If it's snowing and or icy, mine wont come out to play. I pray it's warm. I want to see some new Challengers, camera's, chicks, Dodge factory reps ect...it'll be cool

Here is the latest from car and driver:
BY JORDAN BROWN (Nov-29-2007)
It's time to cash in that Google stock and dig out the checkbook-pricing has been confirmed for the all-new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Chrysler's modern interpretation of the American classic is expected to resonate with enthusiasts, and with a starting price of $37,995, mere mortals can afford one. That puts it only $1400 north of the current Dodge Charger SRT8. The Challenger SRT8 will be the first in the model lineup to hit showroom floors in the spring, but you can get a first look at the production model at its unveiling in February at the 2008 Chicago auto show.
However, you'd better act fast if you think you want one-Dodge starts taking orders December 3. The Challenger will share the 6.1-liter Hemi V-8 engine in the Charger SRT8. Pumping out 425 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, this beast is sure to produce the same grins as it does in the Charger.
Dodge also tells us the car will feature a numbered dash plaque and the stylish carbon-fiber hood stripes featured on the Challenger concept. It will be available in black, silver, or Hemi orange paint.
As for the rest of the Challenger trim levels, pricing has yet to be announced, so we can only speculate at this point. Based on current Charger pricing, we expect a base Challenger to ring in somewhere around $24,000, with an R/T following in the $34,000 area. Either way, we're still excited for yet another addition to the bargain-priced muscle market.
How about them apples....

Man, I wonder if our dealership has started taking orders? I'll go by there today I need to check on some truck parts anyways. I'll report back what I found out. I'll bring back an order form and we can fill it out on line then submit it!

 Cool

				Call from my Dodge Dealer

Well, I got a call from my dealer telling me it was time to come in and order MY Challenger!

SWEET... I been sitting at the #1 spot on thier list for about a year, and now it is time to order.
Was wondering if anyone else has gotten that call and what others are experiencing as far as dealer premiums for these very limited first runs? My dealer is only getting 1 and is asking $20k over MSRP

, but I am feeling confident this is a once in a lifetime oportunity and shouldn't even think about passing it up. Any thoughts from others? Cheers!

They asked me the same thing yesterday while I was at the dealership. They said the 'paperwork' was done on line with the forms you fill out for the loans and insurance ect..I want a dealer promo package like in the 60's!

Seriously, I cant afford one unless I sold one of my other vehicles, but they arent worth anything,(trucks).

Eddie, if I had any money I'd love to take either of your trucks off your hands, esp. the black one

Maybe I'll have to have a chat with your wife. I think I can scrape up a $100. Maybe she'll throw in the Challenger for another $100

oh no,here we go again.first the 2005 ZO6 corvette when introduced was selling over msrp, then the 2007 GT 500 SHELBY over msrp, now the challenger too!!! be very carefull if you pay a large amount of money over msrp it may come back to bite you later on. make shure it is going to be limited. as we all know the C6 vette-anyone can walk into a dealership now and buy the car for msrp or less. i bought the 2007 GT 500 SHELBY but at msrp, one of the lucky few.so i feel good about my purchase as the car is holding well in value.bottom line is if dodge puts the production numbers up those guys that paid over MSRP will be hurting.do your homework or be very patient.even waiting a year will save you huge money but if you can buy the car at MSRP go for it

OK then, I got on the phone today and heard more of the $$ over MSRP scenarios... THEN I got a dealer on the line who said he had not ordered yet but come on down and we'll order one. They agreed to MSRP without any additional dealer mark and just asked tat I tell at least 15 friends about them for referalls and they would be hhappy. Said they don't play the mark-up game and figure they get some very loyal referalls out of it for doing the right thing. Hemi Orange w/ all three available options... $41,985 all up. I'm Stoked!

Pic's... no problem... would be happy to share. I gotta say I have just been on cloud 9 today since placing that order, especially at MSRP. You know how it is though when you get to thinking the "too good to be true" thoughts, so a little anxiety has entered as well. Guess I can only wait for the day to come when I can actually go and pick it up. Damn... sweet. Can't wait! So... pic's... can't wait to be able to share them... Cheers!!

Which color is the most popular? Let me guess:
1) Hemi orange 2) Black 3) Silver. Was I right?

				I did it too !

I went down to my local dealer and put my deposit on the 2008 Challenger last Saturday. All it took was $2000.00 and about a half hour. They said they would be selling them at "market value" but when I pressed them more they insisted that they agreed it would be about $2000.00 more than msrp. I ordered the hemi-orange with the $50.00 performance tires option. (no sunroof or navigation system for me). The best part is the deposit is totally refundable if they try to mark it up more or something happens and I cant follow through on it. This dealership had a total of 10
Challengers to sell and I got the 9th one.
 Cant wait until April now.

You will have a looooooong Winther in front of you, that is for sure.

If you would live in Sweden then it would be just perfect to get the car in April. Spring-time!

 Congrats!
