The Dodge Challenger is a legendary muscle car with a rich history and a large following in the enthusiast community. The Challenger has never shied away from its muscle-car roots, and it pays homage to them this week at SEMA with the Dodge Challenger T/A Concept.

“One thing about the Challenger is that it’s the ultimate muscle car and keeps to its roots,” said Mark Trostle, head of SRT®, Viper, Mopar® and Motorsports Design. “From a visual, emotional and aesthetic view, the Dodge Challenger T/A Concept draws back to the 1970 Dodge Challenger. Customers really like that we can play from our stellar history, and it’s a great way for us to take that T/A package and do a modern interpretation with this concept vehicle.”

In keeping with the original T/A, the Sublime Dodge Challenger T/A Concept has T/A graphics on both sides of the body, and special T/A badges are prominent on the front quarter panels. Under the hood is the potent 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 engine.

At the front of the Dodge Challenger T/A Concept, a Mopar matte black front splitter works in unison with the Mopar matte black gurney-lip deck-lid spoiler to provide additional downforce assist. Air Catcher headlamps on both the driver and passenger sides add a distinctive appearance with hidden LED lights creating a menacing glow, as well as working to provide a steady stream of cool air to the engine. Iconic heritage Challenger script T/A badges complement the front gloss black grille and rear deck-lid spoiler.

The SRT hood on the Dodge Challenger T/A Concept has been adapted with the Mopar induction system. Air enters the hood opening and is directed to the air box. Thus, air flows to the engine air box from both the headlamps and the induction on the hood. The hood is painted low-gloss black and is outfitted with Mopar hood pins.

The unique rear spoiler on the Dodge Challenger T/A Concept is a modern interpretation of the original T/A spoiler and is finished in low-gloss black, as are the roof and the decklid. The Dodge Challenger T/A Concept rolls on 20-x-9.5-inch Slingshot wheels with a low-gloss black finish.

A side exhaust with electronic cutouts allows the driver to switch from the stock rear-exit exhaust, which already sounds pretty healthy, to a more raucous exhaust note.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is on display at SEMA this week.

The 2014 SEMA Show runs from Tuesday, November 4, through Friday, November 7, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Would be nice to see this come to production, though if it did I'm sure it would lose, at the least, some of the cool stuff (like the cutouts and possibly the CAI)
