11.2 with stock tires,,10.9 with street legal drag radials. The 8-Speed is an advantage here,, .5 sec faster at least,,in the 1/4 than the 6-speeder,,but having 2 more gears allows a broader torque curve. Amazing considering,,in 1970 a fast NHRA Pro-Stock race car won in the 10's but would never survive idling or even a few miles on the street,(valvetrain would burn up and you would need 114 Octane race fuel). :s003: Chevy and Ford,,,batter up! :s002:

Just reading the newest Car & Driver. This is the new for 2015 issue and under Model-Year Advances, Pt 1 they mention the Hellcat engine. The last sentence is amusing; "The port-fuel-injecction system is capable of draining the 18.5 gallon tank in 13 minutes of full-power operation.
though that's nothing. When I was a teen ( a million years ago when muscle cars were just cheap old cars) a buddy had a stock '68 Hemi Road Runner that you could watch the gauge drop when you stomped on the loud pedal :D

I used to road test my old Challenger on the road from my house to a junction near the coast and back (only about an 11 mile round trip) to test WOT acceleration and high rpm driving. Although I could get 13 miles per (slightly larger) UK Gallon at steady cruise speed, I could use a quarter tank easy after being at WOT a few times. :D
