I remember going to the IMSA races in vthe mid 70s. There was a track outside of st Louis in a town called Wentzville that was a motorsports park before there was such a word. They had drag racing and road racing. A buddy and I used to take our dates out for a Saturday of racing. This was after the Mopars quit running, but watching the big block Vettes, Trans Ams, and Camaros dicing it out with the BMWs, Zs etc was something to see.

oh yes i did forget parnelli, he is the name i use when someone thinks there a racer, he was the pinnacle i have to talk to my amx buddies as they too have a good resource book too!and i have seen ,or better yet heard the thunder of those big block cars , struggle a little in the corners but own the long stretches of track , man i get goose bumps from some of those cars, we used to have the cart gran prix here in town and i would stay till the end just to see those trans am cars go, no they dont race here, but i will have to travel to get my fix , and intend on that in june

Drew, I'm just the opposite. I call wannabe interstate racers Mario Andrettis They think they can drive real fast right up until any sort of gently rolling curve in the interstte comes up. Then they have to slow down below the speed limit to make the "harrowing" turn. You'd think they were drinig into the Corkscrew

I met Paranelli Jones Son last year at INDY. He had a Team from Terre Haute in the Indy 2007 Race but they didnt qualify,(Not fast enough). This year I spoke with Team member Joe Navatny,(Tire Changer), and he said they couldnt raise the necessary funds to run at 08. I told him I would sweep his floors if they allowed me into their Paddock and he said they get offers from young women to do the same. I knew I didnt have chance in Hell!!
