Videos on the car are made with GOPRO HD camera, videos from teh outside were made with SONY HDR-CX11E.

I belive the saound comes from high compresion engine 10,5:1 ratio with TTI exhaust, dynomax mufflers. It became louder aftre changing the x pipe to H pipe. X pipe does not work with gear vendor under/overdrive.

I just got a Go Pro HD and the sound is not as good as your Video, were you using the Sony for audio?

Any tips on how to burn a DVD from the GP format? For a novice they seem pretty hard to work with. :s006:

Getting good GoPro sound is not always easy, I've seen this recently :

The sound clip without the windscreen is exactly what I get when I use the cam on my car.
I'm using the same kind of furry critter on the mike I have with my still camera (which also does HD video) and these things work well.

The sound gain level is also important with the Gopro. Always use the low gain setting in a motorsports application.

I will look into getting one of those critters. Bye the way, how do you access the sound setting? I can't find it in the manual or the camera display. :?

What resolution do you guys prefer? I'm trying to make a DVD for TV viewing and using the lowest setting still could not get my DVD player to read a disk. Thanks!

I don't remember exactly, but it's a setting which can only take two values : "Hi" or "Lo". I don't think there's another setting with these values.

I'd say the best resolution is the native resolution of the camera, but if you're trying to make a DVD, you will have to downgrade if you have a HD cam.
Maximum DVD resolution is :
- 720 × 480 pixels in 30 fps countries (60 Hz mains).
- 720 × 576 pixels in 25 fps countries (50 Hz mains).

Those systems used to be called "Never Twice the Same Color" (NTSC) and "Perfection At Last" (PAL) back when there were still vacuum-tube TV sets lying around and poor weather could change broadcasting conditions. :s003:

Most DVD Authoring software should be able to help you in the process.
You should burn the DVD at a fairly low speed setting (the lowest if possible), most video DVD players can't read discs which were burned too fast (same goes for audio CDs).

If you think your software may be doing something wrong, you can try DVDStyler, here's the documentation. It's rather simple.

Thanks Fabian, I will try out your site and recommendations. :D We have some lower res (720) moto videos to send to the family. I Copied the files using IMG Burn but the DVD players wouldn't recognize them. :fight:

You did use a DVD authoring software of some kind, did you?
Simply burning any kind of video files (like the AVI file from the Gopro) onto a DVD will not make a legit video DVD that can be played on all set-top DVD players (that's a data-DVD which can be played on another computer though).

You need to build a DVD menu and convert the video to the DVD format (MPEG-2, with the correct filenames, indexes and directory construction). That can't be done by hand.

Following a friends instructions I had converted the MP4 to MKV and sent that to disc using IMG. Works on the computer like you said but not TV/DVD. Downloading your software recommendation now. Does conversion needs to be made prior too? Thanks again.

EDIT:

The software worked like a charm.
