Yep, the new 400->470 engine does for what it was built; dealing with high revs

I've hit 145mph a few times in the Corvette recently but despite being lower it does not feel as fast as my Challenger did at 90mph.

Just shows you what an accomplished piece of engineering them new Vettes are Dave, I've been using Carols M3 a bit this week and its been hitting some crazy figures, just takes it in iits stride, no drama, nothing, a little bit boring in some ways but you don't half cover ground quick. Rear tyres are fucked now tho

That is one of my reasons for selling the Vette.

I would rather have something slower if it was more interesting to drive. And mechanically more accessable.

The other reason is that if I don't sell the Vette I am going to either crash it or loose my licence.

Before the V.P. trip I always kept low gears(3:91) in my car to keep my over all speed down,it does work but now with3:23,s I find my self over the century mark to often,

But I remember in your vette it was so smoooth and quiet you caught your self speeding and it didnt seen like it,

but we were going well over the speed limit with ease ,

and it is easy to get complacent and just zone out and all of a sudden it po po in the mirror

Man you know how long it took to get to the border of Scotland when you were here? I was at a place not too far short of that on Sat night and it took me 30 mins to get there with a stop for gas on the way. Narrow undulating roads with sudden bends. I was hitting 95mph in pitch darkness. My lights only lighting as far as the next hill in the road and zero G going over the top into the unknown.

If I had passengers they would have been screaming. One of the tyre pressure sensors warned me I had 64psi in the tyres at one point. I guess the jumps were spiking the pressure. It was normal a half mile of so further on.

You know those roads for sure ,that would have been fun to do that in your Vette.........or chally :?:
but that being said ,that is a short amount of time for that run, it was a little over an hour in your jeep,

Diana was not there I take it :s007: Lisa hates it when I drive like that, especially when I conned her in to a run down the strip :s004:

You could always get an old MG or Triumph :s009:
You'd get all the work you want and then some, plus they're slooooooower than your Vette!

Had a change of heart on the Vette. Both times I have tried to sell it, the deal has fallen through. I am a big believer in fate. :D

So I am going to make a slight improvement to the suspension (lower and slightly stiffer on the sway bars) and a cosmetic change to the rear bumper panel to get rid of the Euro spec fog lights.

Then going to just enjoy driving it and TRY to keep my speed down a bit.

You might want to make a slight improvement on the license plate (get a fake one).
With one speed cam every two miles on some parts of the highway in your country, I don't see another way to keep your license very long...

You are so right about the ridiculous number of em over here, I just look at it as a way to step up your game and learn the craft of happy speed

Amazingly for a superbike rider I've never had a single prosecution, even I don't know how I've done it, all my mates think I must have a false license

Actually the number of speed cameras up here where I live is quite low. They tend to only put the mobile cameras in areas where local residents have complained about the speed of cars. Like the one that got me. Although I was only a couple of hundred metres from a 70mph zone the bastards. :s005:

Plus if I had updated my live services subscription on my Sat Nav and taken it with me it would have warned me the camera was there. So it was my fault.

But more important is that the Police have number recognition cameras in some of their cars that read every plate they pass.

They check your plate automatically against a massive database containing the details of every vehicle on the UK roads and check for any cars registered as stolen, or not with a current Tax disc, MOT certificate, or insurance.

So fitting any kind of "funny" plate is going to get you into much bigger trouble a lot faster.
