Really good. It sounds and looks like your tyres were the limiting factor there.
Plus some understeer?

It is just 318 but quite modified. best ET 13,9, i can rev 7000 rpms . the point in corners is the weight of the front of the car and overal balance. The same track was done by my friend in Charger with stroked Hemi (750 Hp) with 1:14 comparing to mine 1:08

I managed to get the balance of my iron head 440 Challenger 54.9% front - 45.1% rear with me in the car. It should be a lot easier to do that, or better, with a little 318 engine.

Your understeer problem is probably due to the light weight of your engine. The front suspension is too stiff compared to the rear.

You need to stiffen the rear spring rates or anti-roll bar and/or soften the front a little. If you have adjustable shocks you can do this with a simple shock adjustment. Maybe a bit more negative camber on the front wheels?

Or just fit a bigger engine up front.

Looks like a ton of fun , where is this track looks nice and tight, but fast, and what size tyres/wheels are you running?

I think the quality of front tires is an issue, as well as adjustment of stiffnes. I will do as you suggest Dave and see the results. I am runnin QA1 adjustable schocks front and rear so i can work on it.
Front tires : Conti Premium Contact 225/50 R17 ( not good for sport application)
Rear Tires : Pirelli P zero asimetrico 285/40 R 17

Not only do you have different sizes ,you have different tire manufacturers on there ,different compounds heat up differently, match up those tires and It will make a big difference,I have a 275 40 17 n all 4,s and it will also allow you to rotate the tyres

Thanks for posting, cool video! For the reasons Drew described, is why I want to try and set mine up like his R/T with bigger wheels and rubber and some minor suspension mods. His car handles like a SRT Viper!

Mine has the same situation with mostly stock stuff, .92 torsion bars and an extra rear leaf plate. After adding a factory 3/4" rear sway bar it helped a bit but not really inspiring.

Working with better front tires would seem to be the hot ticket at this point.

Your car stays pretty flat in the corners from what I can see, looks cool too! i will try to get some pics of my front inner fender to show how much clearance you can get :D

Ok I have a pic or 2 here, this is how one can get a 275/40 17 on an Ebody,

I used a block of wood wrapped in a towel on the out side or body side ,

and after I use some big channel lock s to do most of the bending I then used the wood and a hammer and slowly, and carefully massaged the wheel opening,

now I know this is very primitive and at the time(1995) there wasn't a tool to do the job now east wood makes a tool to mount on the wheel and actually folds the edge flat with out damaging the paint, here is the link,

http://www.eastwood.com/ew-fender-rolle ... ction.html

I feel there is not enough room to properly fit a bigger tyre on these cars and they need alot more tyre in

the front :s003:

Did you actually stretch the front fender opening out away from the wheel then Drew :?:

Um.....well yea .lol and then I did some crafty body work to bring the body line ,and the little curvy thing above the wheel, kind of like the T/A fenders so yea it does take some doing,

but if you use the eastwood tool you can get at least 3/4 of an inch more clearance

Here is another angle I brought the lip out is what was needed
