yea i really tried to be consistent and really focus in being smooth, if im smooth im generally much faster, but that was my first lap and the tires were cold , i learned a hard lesson on cold tires once, but any way the car was a little squirrley, i think i have a shock that is hanging up, the right side doesnt want to settle down, it sticks, so i need to do some work, also i have a blown power valve and the car wont idle very smooth, i hope that is it , but thanks for the critique dave as it always appreciated !dave-r wrote:Better line than last time!
Now you need to brake later and increase the throttle as you go around the corner. You should be at full throttle from the apex onwards if there is a fast straight right after.
The force from accelerating out of the bend should take you to the other side of the track quite naturally.
easy for me to say though. I have only ever done in in light race cars that don't belong to me. Not my two ton "pride and joy".
Its getting good though.
this vid is cool cause its like your chin is on the ground, be sure to see my buddies amxgrillecam, he gets in to it with a mustang, its a little action, check it out it is good vid!airfuelEddie wrote:Kick ASS! I held my breath on that first 'drop' in the track. It almost looked like the track surface had a low point or was that the camera? The R/T sounded wicked nasty! So I guess you didnt mount that mini cam on your shoes eh Drew? Thanks for posting
The force from accelerating out of the bend should take you to the other side of the track quite naturally. its very interesting, because as part of the particpation, we each have to work a corner for safty, so i was watching alot cars take one of the slow/to fast corners, and there was a stripped down old porche 911, that after about 10 lape , hed had one or two times where he was able to do an accelerated drift in to and out of the corner , it was soo cool to see that cae come perfectly down the track and just kinda float around the corner, and see him nail the throttle and slide to the out side of the track, perfectly set up for the next part of the track, a long 100 mph romp!dave-r wrote:drewcrane wrote:yea i really tried to be consistent and really focus in being smooth, if im smooth im generally much faster, but that was my first lap and the tires were cold
Two completely valid points!
drewcrane wrote:this camera will work with some decent batteries, they came with rechargables, as well as akaline, i did some testing around town and then took it to the track and they gave out , so this is an edited version , short, but kinda sweet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXyJ9vKW7_8

get good batteries as the ones they came with , even the rechargables are junk after one or 2 uses, i plan some good sony batteries, or something of the like as i have good luck with themfbernard wrote:drewcrane wrote:oh yea its a hero cam company is Go Pro,hero cam
Thanks, I was just checking out their website a couple days ago.
I've seen it for sale in France, for quite a bit more. I may get it from a US retailer...

If things turn out the way I want to, they camera may have a DC power supply right where I will mount it...
