So here is my first attempt at drag racing. I humbly submit it since there are so many nice and fast cars on this board. It is a '70 with a bone stock 440 I pulled out of a '78 truck, replacing the original 318.

Maybe bone stock but it looks well tuned.

I was running slower than that with a "285" duration mopar cam and a 2800 stall convertor. Mind you. I was burning some oil in those days as well as air/fuel. :D

Nice run! 14.56@96 not bad. The second run had a quicker time. No? Better reaction time?

Thanks guys. THis was my first time ever racing and at least I was able to dust a couple of ricers.
Like I said Stock '78 smogged 440 with shorty headers and duals. 3.91 suregrip. Redid the rear with 6 pack springs when I swapped in the 8 3/4. I think I can go faster. Right now it has a 600 cfm edelbrock and I just ordered a 750. I think it was way undercarbed.
Second run was quicker with less top speed so my reaction was better than the .57 on the first one.

So on these time slips when they show your time that includes the reaction time, right? Does that mean if I had a .000 reaction time I could have been in the 13's (my goal)

No. Your ET is from when the car breaks the light beam on the start line to when it breaks the beam on the finish line. You could have sat at the green light for 10 mins and your ET would have been the same.

You will find the 750 Edelbrock an ideal size for your combo.
