Yeah I wondered if i should have mentioned I might be getting another Chally. Tempting fate and all that. :s008:

The one I am going to look at is a 72 or 73 340. The price is a bit high though considering how much work it needs. :?

Yours sounds like it is going to be a real street machine. :s017:

btw, how much snow is normal a winter at your place Ed?

I believe we have about 20 inches right now... Strongly want spring!

Thanks Jimi, we average about 8 inches TOTAL for the winter months and will get that tonight with over an inch or 2 of solid ice.. It's very mild here until Jan/Feb. but I cant complain since everwhere else has gotten hammered WAY worse than here!! Europe, Pakistan, Australia ect,, plus this is "childs play" to guys like Drew, Seth, AMC Jim ectt they have -8 F. degrees actual with -18 F. wind chill right now! But in Denver it's supposed to be 50 F this weekend! Pat gets a shitload of Rain in the 'Gorge'(Pacific Northwest). The '73-74 Challengers are really sweet, I like the almost flush grill and the taillight area isnt all that bad. They make excellent Street Machines or OEM stock look, either way you cant go wrong. Sorry Jimiboy,,no pics right now, but as soon as I get them I will post it here! :

I think -70, -71 taillights is great, but in black the -72-74 backside is badass (everything looks mean in black) :D The same for the grille... (But those rubber bumpers man... those rubber... yuck!) :s007:

We had about -50F in back in -99, but a normal winter we have everything from todays mild -19,4F to -22F (sometimes -30F)

(Why can you guys not convert to celsius like the rest of us? and.. millimeters... and kilos etc...)

lol

Cool to hear that you are looking at another Chally Dave :D
I think a road warrior like Drews would be something.. i like streetmachines a lot, but i´d rather take the corners fast aswell (sideways with spinning tires) :s003:

The 73 that I am buying, was ordered for drag racing I think,,It's originally a 318 car but has a 26" radiator opening. Perfect for what I want to accomplish. The best thing about this car is the lack of rust. Drew, sent me a video tape of it and I was shocked at how well it's held up! Also it has a new restored interior in it, new bumpers, new fuel tank, alluminum 26" radiator. $13,850 my engine is done and ready to install, Passon performance is developing a 5-Speed manual gear box or a Keisler TKO 5 Speed, Cop Car 11.75 Rotors, Geared Torsen type of rear diff for the 8.75,,should be a cool road trip car. The next trip it will be driven the whole distance from Terre Haute to Stevenson,Washington then down to Denver, Col. 5,000-7,000 miles. I Sure hope they have E-85 in them thar Western parts of the cuntry

Anytime Jimi,,you're always welcome!!! Cool Pat & Drew, I can always bring a Gasoline carby to swap out on long trips. Maybe hit a rest stop in Western Kansas, swap out the E-85 carb with the gas one, and be on my way. I cant wait for the thaw and go to Denver to pick it up! :s003: Jimi, since 71 was the last year for a big block, I dont know if the rallye cars that had the 318/340/360(74) had the 26" rad option? Either way it doesnt matter, this beast aint gonna be stock anyways. When the time comes,,I am gonna need you dudes advise on brakes, wheels, tires, suspension, ect I want this thing to 'copy' Drew's beast. His Challenger rocks!!!!!

Yeah you got a 26 incher if you had heavy duty options, air con and the like.

It will be bloody expensive driving a challenger that sort of distance though will it not? Is it not cheaper to trailer it as far as Drews at least?
Then again. The size of that monster truck of yours, it can't be that cheap in that either with the price of diesel these days.

And I suppose you will be wantin me and wayne taking turns on the drivin as well eh? I'll bring me ear plugs so I don't have to listen to you buggers.

Thanks for the lesson Dave! Diesel is 3.79 a gallon, 92 Octane is 3.39 and E-85 is only 2.69 and is 105 Octane!! This time, the Challenger gets driven the whole way. I am NOT gonna drive this thing the whole way,,this time You&Wayne are gonna drive while I set back and blah blah blah!! Seriously, it will be a blast, driving a Vintage Challenger across America's West from Terre Haute, IN. Which is why I want to use a overdrive manual box. I think I could get the same fuel economy or close to it as a loaded down diesel truck given the cost of diesel vs. gas/E-85 at 12-14 MPG, either way it's gonna happen. Pat, Drew & I have a Plan. Pretty scary huh?

No matter abouot the cars past, your´s gonna be a blast... :P Nothing surprises me when it comes to mopar... a guy in town has a superbee that was ordered with no exhaúst system - just the headers, big block, gears for 1/4 mile..... and.....

....what do you call it, when it´s a couch/sofa/divan.. not separate seats... and shifter at steering wheel !

What a combo, eh?
