Posted: 21 Sep 2009 17:32 Between the govt wanting to get rid of them and Fiat looking to get back into the US market, the Chrysler we knew is dead. The Chryler Group (or whatever they're calling themselves nowadays) is nothing but a hollow shell for selling Fiats here in the USA. Damlier <sp> gutted the company when they all but killed the R&D, what Chrysler was famous for. Hopefully they won't lose their halo cars (Challenger, Viper, the trucks) but I think once the lifecycle of the current vehicles is over, it will be a completely different (not altogether bad or good) company.
