Im trying to buy this car, 1969 Dodge charger 500 converted to a daytona in the 70s using a real nose, fenders, hood and wing. Its a numbers matching 440 727 for the 500 and has power windows and a 6 way power seat, I can land it for around 45,000.00 ,runs and drives, no rust, but needs restored, I know its a clone but it is a real charger 500. What do you guys think?Image

I'm not a Charger expert. Do you mean 1969 Dodge Charger 500 as in the limited edition Nascar Edition with rear backlight filled in,,front grill flush with the leading edge as delivered by Creative Industries? Or the 1970 Charger 500 which was a marketing term used on many made that year? I also remember the Nascar edition 500 had XX on the fender tag. My 1st car was a Wing Car!!(1970 Ply. S.Bird) I would proceed with extreme caution. You need to talk to someone who is knowledgeable about those cars. I remember that car!!! I think it was in an article in a magazine a while back. Bee careful

Nice car hope it works out for you. I have to wonder why they would take a much rarer car and clone it into a model that they made more of. Supposed to be the other way around isnt it? Why not sell the XX Nascar model and just buy a Wing Car? 1969 Charger 500 were under 300 made right? The 69 Daytona was around 500---Good Luck

Sounds like a good deal to me. You could always sell the original daytona parts to recoup some of the cost and like Eddie said, still have a rare car.
