That really is the best isn't it! I could watch those older motorsports tapes all day. I have Formula 1's "the quick and the dead" with interviews of Peter Revson, Francois Cervret, Peter Willamson, Jackie Stewart and others. It was made in 1976 I think.

if you search Tucows website you should be able to download a free bit of softwear that will allow you to save it and play it on your computer.

The player I dowloaded is called FLV Player 1.3.3

I can't remember how I downloaded the actual file.

NOW I remember!

Go here first to download the film.

http://keepvid.com/

Then go here to dowload a viewer.

There are other bits of free softwear around that will do the same thing.

How cool is that! A man smoking a great big cigar whilst running the quarter mile. :s002:

If some one released a DVD of this stuff, I'd buy it in an instant. This for me (personal opinion only) was the golden age of drag racing.

There's another clip on there which may be of interest to some- Red Victor Racing's world record run for a street legal car on pump gas. 7.66 seconds at 187 mph. There's an in- car clip too, search on Red Victor Drag Race.

Yup!

Plus it is a REAL street car in that the rules over here are they have to pass the normal MOT test and be taxed for road use. Then they complete a long drive on various public roads and fill up at a local gas station.
No changes to the car are allowed at the track except for normal fine tuning.

Not like some of these US "street" cars. :P

Here is another video for you.

This is the Super Stock version of the new Challenger. They spent a lot of money to make this go slightly quicker than my own car.

I like your's better! Although that Gary Stanton built 392 GenIII Hemi is sweet. Gary Stanton's shop is located in Kentucky and specialises in OutLaw 410 MoPar Aluminum Mechanical injected, 900+ H.P. Small block sprint engines. He is also rumored to head the new Pro-stock Hemi effort for a few select teams in NHRA. He has a few world champs to his credit with Team Kinser in WOO racing as their engine builder. He also assists with Tony Stewarts MoPar sprinters!

How do you use these FLV players then Dave? I downloaded the software, but can't figure out how to actually get it to save files from YouTube.

I know, doesn't sound like me.....

Tim, I have probably the LEAST knowledge about what you are attempting. I am too old for all this fancy electronic stuff. I simply saved it to my favorites. Now I go to the Links on my favorites and it's there! Hope this helps

The bit you download to your pc does not save the files. it just allows you to view them.
