My name is Jim Roelofs (all my friends call me jr) and hail from Wodonga in south east Australia, on the border of New South Wales and Victoria. My interest in muscle cars stems from my employment by the local Albury Wodonga Chrysler Club as their creator of all promotional material. They host an annual show called Chryslers on the Murray, the largest Chrysler show in Australia. The venue is glorious grassed / lightly treed parkland (see attachment)on the banks of the Murray River, hence the show's name. People come from far and wide including USA, New Zealand etc.This year saw a record 360 exhibition entries, travelling from all corners of Australia to take part in activities. Next year (05) will see the focus on American Muscle Cars.

My job is to illustrate a couple of cars each year and next year's art features a Challenger and a Charger. Looking at the attachments, you will probably get a first impression that they are photographs (just like everyone so far), but believe me, I draw them from scratch, with every part (including each wheel nut) being a separate layer in Adobe Photoshop. It's very time consuming, each car taking around 5 days to complete, but to me it's the journey that matters.

I produce A2 posters (594mm x 420mm) of each piece of art, as well as teeshirts, brochures, fridge magnets and framed trophy prints for the club. It is one of my major projects for the year as I am only a one man band.
