future,( I quite like the idea of importing a nice straight one )
and, although the reference books I've got are great, it'll be much
better to talk to a few Challenger owners here in rainy ole Britain

Pleased to make your acquaintance mate,..

Err,..no, I haven't been to any Mopar events as yet as it's all a bit
new to me,( though I've wanted a `Chally' for years now ! ).

That's why I'm quite keen to join MMA UK as I might be a tad better
informed for future events.
Anyway, I would've felt under powered turning-up in my Mk II Ford
Transit with it's 3 Ltr Essex V6

I was interested to find a company on the Hemi site that built Elephant
lumps in various states of tune
What I'd ultimately like to do is put a reasonably hot Hemi and four
speed manual into a clean straight body,( if I ever find somewhere that
I can perform the task in,( I've all the skills and most of the tools, but
no garage )I'm fed up of doing every think out side by the kerb

Do yourself a favour. Move to a place with a garage or at least a car port big enough first. THEN think about getting a Challenger.

I have owned mine for 15 years now and have only just got a garage to keep it in. I was lucky though because I always had a driveway or private area to park the car off the street. No way will it survive parked at a kerb and once you own a Challenger it will swallow your money faster than you can save for a new house so you will be stuck for years.

You've just echo'd and reinforced my my fears exactly in your last post
I've been holding off buying such a glorious monster for some years
now for those very reasons. I initially got into bikes because at least I
could park the things in my front garden and get them in bits down
in my garden workshop It was bad enough when I did the V6
Essex rebuild and transplant into the van, back in `93; Lugging the
bleedin' thing down the back ally and suffering an engine hoist failure
out in the road on my own are not things I want to experience again

Thankfully I've just missed buying a Chally on good old Ebay today,( it went for a bit too much IMHO ).Just as bloody well as then I'd have the
hassle of trying to find a home for it

I'll have to make do with looking in my books and joining the MMA UK
for the time being,( and talks with your good self of course Dave ). I don't like putting petrol in my van as it guzzles,so
the longer I can put off playing Kowalski, the better

I must get along to some of the meets to see the glory in the flesh
though. I guess they've all finished for the year

interest in machines of glory in this age of gangster priced fuel and
dickless `smart' cars
