Power meet in Nossebro, 14th of June 2008

Postby christer » 29 Jun 2008 10:03

Yep, I was there. It makes me sweat when I think of it. The temperature was about 29°C (84 F) and you could not find any higher temperature in the rest of Europe at that time. :ashamed:

I was there primarily as a seller. Due to the hot weather, no-one was intested in buying (....or was it my useless stuff?). I sold for about $80 and that is really not much. :disbelief:

I took some hasty snap shots. Here they are. :D

Thanks for posting those really nice pics Chris. That Hemi is sweet as is that black sinister Charger!(both are nice)! 84 Hot? It's funny how peoples of the world have a different 'threshold' of temperture comfort. I like it at 90 or a bit hotter, women wear less clothing!

90 degrees is classed as a "Heat wave" in Northern Europe. It kills people.

Especially the ones with no air conditioning!

There was a show on either Discovery or History channel about eskimo and Inuit life up by the arctic circle, and these guys were walking around all day in t-shirts in 20 degree weather! It was warm to them!

I hesitate whether I shall write about this, but I was stupid enough to wear trousers :s001: , nor did I have anything covering my head :s022: . Spending six hours outside was a boiling experience, I can tell you that. (....or am I soft? :p: )

Sorry Chris, I didnt realize about your selling out in the hot sun. Yeah, it would be uncomfortable even for me. I have the 'genes' for extreme heat. But when it gets below 60 F I turn into a vagina and need to have the furnace ON! The heaters, long underwear the works. I cant handle cold weather at all!!

in the video on the track event i have an infared temp sensor for brakes, rad. temp. exhaust etc.,the air temp that day was 103, track temp was 120, my car was 120 like the track, yes the heat can kill. i have a pop up shade, as well as a large brimmed hat as i am follacly impared,we also bring a mist system some times to make it through a full 8 to 10 hours at the track, yes chris we go through alot for what is just a hobby most people call it insanity,am i insane probably, but we have a common passion, for cars and we love it! :s009:
