American Beauty Car Show 2005 Haapsalu, Estonia

Hi ya'll.

29-31. July were the magic days.

3 days of American cars and lots of :V8: (this includes V8 roaring every night oooohhhh yeaaaaa)

Show itself was very good. Mostly very nice older cars (50's, 60's). No TRUE muscles, Mustangs don't count  .
Saw one Chally in the parking lot tho :s007: :s007: red 1970 838 magnum R/T. R/T hood vents were closed  wtf?
I took over 40 pictures of it (pics below). One of board members maybe?
Very nice Chally I must say.

The life behind the scenes - the camping area - was why I loved this weekend so much. Everything was just SOOOOO AMERICA.
Well most of you probably know how these thing are - I was a first timer (of 3 day-show)

Don't wan't to waste your time so here are the ~400 pic I made.

Images are packed with winrar (*.rar).
Just right-click and "save target as.."
Unpack and enjoy. (they extract to 3 folders - 1, 2 and 3 - like 3 days)

Day 1 - 5,4 Mb
Day 2 (1 of 2) - 10 Mb
Day 2 (2 of 2) - 25 Mb
Day 3 -The drag - 7,7 Mb

Greetings from Estonia,
Sten

How do they extract? Windows does not recognise the file type.

Download from www.winrar.com (trial version)

People now use *.rar more often than *.zip. It's faster and has better packing capability so I recommend keeping this program (ofcourse there are alternatives packing/unpacking *.rar files)

After installing Winrar all you have to do is right-click on the compressed file and "Extract here" or "Extract to...". (my pictures are already in folders so click "extract here")

I hope this isn't too complicated for you guys. Thought that everyone is familiar with Winrar.
The reason why I didn't make a nice picture gallery is simple - no server. 50 Mbs of pictures isn't so much but if I want to make a gallery then it would take a lot of time connecting 2 separate gallerys (25 Mbs per free account)

Cheers

I only just got a chance to download that program and view the images.

Wow! It looks like you guys had a GREAT weekend. :D

(liked the girls a lot!)

I will post the photos of the Challenger. Shame about the rough paint (look above the reversing light) and things like the screws through the R/T emblem.

The hood scoops/vents came from the factory with ally plates blocking them off. Most owners removed and lost them. I don't think they were painted body colour though?? :? I'm not sure.

You took far too many photos like this instead of the cars though young man! (but don't let me stop you!)

You surprised me with this photograph. It is VERY good.

If you take a few more like this you could make a living from it.

I love the composition with the old lady and the totally inappropriate (for her) advert in the window.

You're right about the "great weekend" It's been a week and I still have the tickets around my hands (thank God they're waterproof)

That picture with the old lady...It just happened. It's more like a snapshot during walking.
Thank you for the nice comment.
PS! I've been thinking of the career in photography but this requires better equipment and more knowledge.

Babe in the Vette...you'd never guess what story I got for you.
It was technical inspection for next day's competition. And that babe was behind the wheel  First time on the strip :!: and oh my what reaction times she took. All were 0,04x. Everyone was like  They did brackets and all her times were 0,03x and 0,04x or aroud it. Surprise of the day.

There was one female more on the strip who drove offroad chevy (my english again) and she also took amazing reaction times.
Commentator asked her husband about her comments "She wants a bigger engine already" No romantics in that household I think

Mmm. This cool pick-up drew my attention.

Back in the early 1970s there used to be one of these on the introduction film to the music show "Top Of The Pops" here in the UK.

I found a photo taken of that car in 1973 when it was owned by a guy called Dave Emmett.

Same car 32 years later? Or just coincidence?

I don't know Dave. I hope It's not the same car. Why waste such a great lookin '32 Ford A for not-that-good rodding job. But it could be the same.
Roof is different, fenders, lights and accessories ect. And now it has a 427 witch pulls the cart 12.1 in our conditions.

But a very nice ride anyway.

PS! I fixed the mistake I made in the last post about the reaction times. NOT 0.3xx and 0.4xx but 0.03x and 0.04x

Well guess what.

The one from 1973 had a 427 BBC bored to 440 inches and ran high 11s.

Very quick for a street car these days let alone back then.

In that case you don't leave me other choice but to agree with you. It's a small world.

Unfortunately, I can only view the one in the post above. I daren't download the software at work to unzip them. :(

'Course, if someone were to send me the unzipped ones in a private post...... :s023: :s003:

Stunning photo's above though. We've got some really talented people in the hobby. 8)

Thank you Tim.

If I find enough time* I could upload the pictures unpacked. That means you have to click on about 400 links to see all of the pictures because there are no thumbnails or galleries :sleepy: Really boring.
Or I could leave out some pointless pics, then about 350

* "enough time" - just finished watching six comedy movies in a row with a friend (biggest break was going to the gas station for an energy drink - 10 minutes). :bonk: Got to get a life damn. Had a good laugh tho.

For those who can't handle the power of WinRAR :s025: ...

I know it was a long time ago but pictures of US cars never hurt anybody.
