By a strange coincidence, I met up with a guy at this particular car show. He grew up in in the same small village as myself. His name is Roger. We even went to the same school for a number of weeks. A couple of times I travelled to school in the 1960 Cadillac he owned at that time. I immediately recoqnized him even though we had not seen each other for about thirty years. Now that lucky bastard (sorry
) owns a 69´Hemi Charger. According to him it is one of only four export Hemi Chargers that year. He bought it from the Netherlands and has been restoring it for a number of years. To me it seems like he has done a great job. The well known finish dragracer Jari Konola (I think) helped him with the engine. He did well becuse when Roger and his daughter went to a car meet, his daughter begged him to floor the pedal. When he did this, four bolts in the rear axle were sheared into pieces. Roger believed this happened due to an un-even layer of asphalt, making the tires stick from time to time while smoking the tires.
I did not know that some of the Hemi cars had the 8 3/4 rear axle. I thought all of them had the Dana 60. You learn something new each day.
We had a nice chat for about 30 minutes. It was fun meeting him.
