Dragstalgia

At Santa Pod in the next two weeks.............just the chance to see the restored Allard is reason enough to attend, let alone the huge number of vintage British dragsters on display

That looks like a wicked lineup! Almost too much to see. Are gassers and altereds big over there? Also cacklefests are :s017: The Allards look sweet also. I really like the older racing in general.
The flypast will be cool. Any idea what will be flying?
Before nostalgia became big, there was a race/show that catered to the oldtimers about an hour away from me. It was a famous dragstrip/roadcouse from the 1950s - 1980s I remember going to watch the Camel GT races back in the day also.
http://www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks/MO/MidAmerica.html has some information on the now gone facility. Sorry about the hijack.
If I ever win the lottery, I'm grabbing some of the guys here & we're heading over to see this show some year.

Can't believe |I missed this.

Looks like my idea of heaven (if Kirsty Allsop was a funny car driver).

I can remember the good old days of fuel cars pulling half- track burnouts. They don't do it so much now, something to do with modern clutch setup's I think.

Wicked pics though. :s017:

I'm well aware I'm very lucky to live so close to the two main UK drag strips, got events at either one almost every week now, I love it :D
