4th Wednesday of every month is a meeting with a few Hot Rods I sometimes get to.

After meeting in a car park for an hour from 7:30pm we drive a few miles to the coastal town of Tynemouth and drive North along the sea front through Cullercoats to Whitley Bay (should sound familiar to Dire Straits fans) and on to Seaton Sluice before heading back inland to the Keel Row pub which has a good sized car park. :wink:

Just before we set of on the drive at 8:30pm there were some thick dark clouds came over from the West that obscured the sun and made it a lot darker than normal for this time of year here. Normally it is still quite light past 10:30pm as the sun sets very slowly.

That vid got me to wondering what it takes to set up a steady camera like that? I Remember Roland videoing at 140 which appeared very well done also.

I don't think you can get any lower tech than this. :lol:

Materials needed;

One scrap bit of aluminium cut to size and drilled.
One old valve cover bolt (1/4" UNC) cut down to the depth of the standard camera mount hole.

Err. That's it. :s008:

I just jammed it down between the rear seat and the package tray (parcel shelf in the UK).

I might do a MK2 version with a downward front edge to touch the top of the seat. That should hold it more steady.

I made the same crude bracket to mount the camera to the windshield(windscreen in the U.K.) ,these cameras are getting so light weight a person could put them anywhere,gosh dave did i rub off on you i have never seen you make something so crude :s024:

Wow, very simple and the picture quality is pretty good. Too bad mine is a 3 pound Tape recorder. :oops:

Next question, how to upload to Youtube with dialup? :s020:
