Cumbria

A very basic Drag Racing event on an old WW2 airstrip in Cumberland, UK. It was cold and damp and had so little traction that one car ended up on it's roof.

The good thing though was even 1500hp cars were running 13s same as me.

I think the fastest run anyone did was an 11.2. There were only 9 other cars faster than my 13.2.

I really enjoyed this event though. Yes it was rough. Yes it couldn't have been more basic. Yes the track was rubbish.
But it was friendly and good humored and a good day out.

I really envy you having events like this round your way, Dave. I wish we had something like it in the Midlands.

I'd go and race me truck, just to get some runs in.

Looks like a heck of a lot of fun. :s002:

One guy did race his truck. A massive tractor unit. Without the trailer though.
He suited up with full race suit and everything. He saw me laughing at him and gave me a wink!

Yeah I was worried for a bit. Mainly because people kept telling me that was probably what it was likely to be. Bastards.
