I'm back. But going to bed. I'm knackered. :D

Car ran like crap due to (I think) faulty MSD unit. Consistant 13.0 second runs. Mainly at whatever random RPM the MSD wanted me to run at. Mainly 3750rpm.

Big suprise was the prize in the show and shine where I was runner up best in show. To say i was shocked would be an underestimate.
Completely gobsmacked would be a better description to how I felt.

Very nice, get the MSD sorted out and you'll be flying in no time.

3750? What module do you have in?

Tom

Congrats on the show place too!

I was fortunate in being able to have a good look around Dave's car several weeks ago.

The level of forethought, planning and effort that has gone into the car is second to none. It's the culmination of four years of hard work. The car is superb in every detail, and performs as good as it looks.

This is a hard- earned and well- deserved award. Congratulations Dave. :s002:

Thanks!

It is a MSD Digital 6 which has built in rev limiters you set by turning little "pots". It was working fine right up to Friday night (it was OK during the burnout wayne filmed) but first run Saturday morning it just would not rev. Same all the way home every time I tried to drop a gear to overtake or when pulling out of gas stations.

Wow! That last one's a keeper. :s002: Is that One of Dave McB's?

Since he's taking some very detailed shots of the car, does that mean we can look forward to seeing it in a national magazine at some point?

Well, we both put a face on a name after all these years!

I didn't run as well as I planned too (did 12.3 twice with a weird ignition sputter around 5.5k when I had the rev limiter at 7k), and I had to surrender the slicks I borrowed so I didn't run on Sunday.

I'm thinking about going back to automatic more and more these days...

The friday was awful, but having all the week-end's rain all at once was cool, the next 2 days were perfect!
