next time yeh, this is myself and dave hoare both ran same 60ft and mid 12 for first run on sat, quickest i ran was 12.43@ 108 1.78 60ft car seemed to get quicker each run , only put 2 runs in on sun, i,m sure if i would of had a tweak here and there would of gone quicker but i was happy with consistent 12.4,s for now anyway :thumbsup:

I have heard the MSD Digital 6 needs a lot of electrical shielding to work correctly. It might be something like that. But I will check the rotor connection too. :thumbsup:

At least the chassis and suspension seemed to be working OK. The launch looks fine with the front end raising slightly.

I didn't even have the pinion snubber adjusted up on these runs. That would have given me even more weight transfer.

as your running super stock springs you prob hardly need the pinion snubber, if your front segment of springs aint wrapping under acceleration you dont need it, plus you can tell by the way you leave the line your also getting rise on the rear suspension which is good, shows the cars lifting and transfering weight to the tyres, nowt wrong with having the snubber there tho, i run one to but not using super stocks just standard springs with an extra leaf and 4 clamps fitted to the r/h front segment , be interesting to see how your car runs dave once set up, going by your 60ft if it pulls hard up the top a high 11 aint gona be far away :thumbsup:

No super stock springs on my car mate. :wink:

They are my own spec to match the uprated front suspension without effecting the ride height I wanted (i.e. pretty low). The slicks are 1.5 inches taller than my street tyres though so add more rake on the track.

I can't remember what spring rate I worked out for them. I will have all the sums somewhere. But they are uprated about 30% over stock 440/hemi springs. Taking the rear sway bar into account too.

One thing I was looking for was a rise on the rear springs now I lengthened the rear shocks. The off the shelf KYB rear shocks are too short. Hence the shock extensions now fitted which seem to do the job. :thumbsup:

What Dave has done Jimi is called a "Mopar McGyver".

You see he's taken the stock stuff an was completely unhappy with it, so he has used a pen ,some chewing gum, a small bottle cap full of badger urine(dont ask me how he got it), an elastic band and a casio calculator watch and hey presto he has a better handling and fast car!! :nod:

Dave also had a mega mullet bay in the 80s!!!

Seriously thats some technical genius Dave fantastic.......wish I could apply myself like that some day!!:thumbsup:

I remember that burnout! I managed to turn around Wayne so I would not end up on the clip...

I found out yesterday that my race carb (an old Barry Grant Stage III 4150) had a huge rear pump arm, which would rest on the rear bowl fuel fitting before the secondaries were fully opened. Aaaargh! I replaced it with a normal small arm (it helps that a friend has a crate with various old carbs taken apart) and it has ample clearance now.

I'd like to know what shock extensions you use, Dave. I saw these but did not think to ask.

That must be the music (it has kind of an English touch to it, did you notice?)... It sure ain't the overwhelming smile of that blond girl (she was nicknamed 'Robocop' back at the French Connection area).

Being pushed through the infamous Gates of Shame is not exactly my best moment of the week-end...

The reason I was pushed back at that point is rather funny. My car dripped a few drops of oil right after the burnout.

The reason?
I could remove all the valve cover nuts by hand. The left side valve cover was still relatively tight, but the right one was almost gone. Oil was dripping on the header and down the heads, block, oil pan side and onto the ground.
