Yes. Pete and John (Blue) both came up with this class in memory of their mate Paul Worrow who was ill for many years and finally lost his fight against brain cancer a year or two ago.

Quite lucky Pete and John managed to get this class in memory of their mate going though. Because their two cars didn't fit competitively in any other class but will be perfect for this one... :s023:

Just kidding....

No honestly. We needed a class like this because the KOS classes are not well thought out. This lets many tough street machines compete against each other without being in an "Unlimited" class.

If all goes to plan and I win the EuroLottery tonight, I'll build a car just to compete in this class.

I reckon 90% of cars that get on the track at the Nats would be eligible for this class. I was always put off by the KOS classes because the definitions were a bit confusing.

Good going on setting up a workable race class (whatever their motives   ).

I have some vague plans to somehow get there and to see with my own eyes what all the fuzz is about. :) Let us see if I make it. It is about time.

Don't be silly. Of course it is good enough. In fact there are very few "show quality cars" there. Most are "drivers" at best. The whole idea is not to see who can piss the highest. But to drive the cars and enjoy them.

It is getting very touch and go if my car will make it there. But I will be there regardless.

I could do with some stronger beer mats though Wayne. Thoses ones in The Percy were too soft and easy.

Dave, keep us updated about weather predictions please...I try to make some time to go and come over again. Would like to make some runs again to improve my shifting thing. Looks like I finally have a setup which survives.

Dragstrip experiences...
2 yrs ago it smoked the clutch = got a good one which pulled wheels up last year.
Last year it spit the teeth out = got in new passon performance tranny.
Last month the linkage gave trouble resulting in bad disc = got new disc and went hydraulic clutch to dump the linkage.

Last weekend it finally survived. Had no testing before the races, not even on the street so went racing to sort it all out and see how it does.

Made 4 runs... 13.00@112mph... 12.40@123mph... NO ET run... 11.40@122mph with wheels up. And still running so would like te get some more runs so hope I can make it to the Nats again. When shifting like a pro there should be some real low 10's possible. Sometime...

Cheers,
Hans

Thanks for the update Hans.

I will start posting 5 day weather forecasts from Tuesday next week but accuracy is never very good on these things.

"Partly Cloudy", "Mostly Sunny", that's the kind of weather we always have.

I told Hans before he fitted it that a 4-speed was a pain in the butt but would he listen to his Uncle Dave?

As for the tranny choice I am a bit narrow minded Dave, I know  but bnow I m've made my first decent run with the 4-speed I can assure you it feels so much more wicked, neater etc. then an automatic. This 11.4 gave much more adrenaline / rush then my best with an automatic running 10.5's. Even more to come as this was my first run leaving at decent rpm's while still shifting like a granny.

But I could run it onto the trailer at the end of the weekend instead of using the winch so I was happy anyway. As long as it's not the same part which fails every time I will keep on trying... And besides that these 4 runs upped my total 4-speed runs to only 9 so give me some time and the ET's will come down...I hope...haha

Will post some photo's of the rides of the team elsewhere.
