Mopar EuroNats 2006

Postby dave-r » 23 Jan 2006 13:32

A message from Jim Wilson.

Here it is guys. This years Nat’s should be the best yet!

We have finalised agreement with Santa Pod Raceway for gate prices and sign on fees for the Mopar EuroNationals on Friday/Saturday/Sunday July 28/29/30 2006.

Full details will be posted on our web site: www.mopareuronats.com very soon.

Gate prices are:

£35 for the weekend £30 for MMA members (with discount form!)
£18 for Sunday only £15 for MMA members (with discount form!)

This is good news. There is no extra charge for Friday, just pay for the weekend at the gate as usual.

We have racing all three days:

Racing on Friday will be from 1.00pm until 7.00pm
Racing on Saturday will be until 9.00pm same as last year
Racing on Sunday will close at the usual time.

Sign on fees for racing:

Friday: £15
Saturday £20
Sunday: £20

This is brilliant value, especially Friday and Saturday. Everyone can get loads of runs in.

Prices are slightly up on last year, but this is still the best value weekend in the world.
Please try to arrive on Friday and race like crazy – Then go on the famous Friday cruise.

Full details will be posted on our web site: www.mopareuronats.com very soon.

My understanding is that the gates open Friday morning in order to give some time to set up camp before the "racing" starts at 1pm.

I'm still hoping to go with my Challenger, but the cam isn't broken in yet! Engine is in the car, wiring is OK, oil and coolant are in the engine, the oil pump has yet to be primed, and the distributor is not installed.

I hope to get this done on thursday morning, drive around town a little in the afternoon and leave for the ferry in the evening... Damn close!

I broke my engine last year just in time to miss the 2005 EuroNats, and I don't know if I'll have the courage to go as a passenger... It sucks!

Does anyone have reliable weather forecasts for this week-end?

No such thing as a reliable weather forecast for the UK. It can be summer in one place and ten miles away winter.

But the 5 day forecast shows a possibility of showers on Friday and looking good so far for Saturday. I will keep you posted.

I hope it will be a bit cooler to be honest. The thought of sleeping in a tent in this heat is not an attractive one. :(

Yeah. We were lucky. It had been in the mid 90s F the last two weekends before. If it had been as hot as that it would have been awful camping in our tents of racing in the cars.

As it was the Friday was actually hotter than "advertised" by the weather men. Reaching mid 80s F which is about as much as I can bare. I am a man built for cooler climates.

The next two days were just right. We even had some cloud cover from time to time and rain in the night which really made the morning air fresh and clean.
Just the ticket for waking up after a long night of drinking and campside parties.

I didn't take ANY photos all weekend. There are others far more professional that I will post links to as soon as they have something up on the web.
