Before nostalgia became the big thing, he was Grand Marshall for a local event that used to be held outside St Louis (MidAmerica Raceeway) at a huge(for back then - 1980s) meet called the Nostalgia Drags. Was really cool watching all the old iron running, Altereds going down the track sideways, half-pass wheelies, half-track long burnouts etc. Great fun. Really miss that place.
