Hello Everyone
My name is Paul and I am new to this site. I am interested in the Vanishing Point road trip I saw some of you talking about in Sept. 2012. I live in North Carolina. I have a 1971 Dodge Challenger that as of Dec 9th 2011 we have been together 35 years. Alpine white originial 340 car that has been stroked to a 372. I try to drive her as much as possible. I work crazy hours and usually can only check my e-mail once a week. So anybody who wants to talk about cars I'm here.

Respectfully Paul

That's cool that you kept your car so long. My wife's family has had our '71 R/T since '74. (It and they came from NC) If you haven't, check out the whole VP thread. Pretty interesting reading (at least for me), it details the trip from preplanning to conclusion.
Throw up some pics and specs of your Challenger.

I think if I were to do this again I would like to hire a car and maybe, after the trip, take a drive up along the Pacific coast. Maybe have a drive around up where Pat lives. I like that kind of country.

Just dreaming really. I probably wouldn't have the time to do a trip like that let alone the money.

Just spotted this thread. I own the Audioslave video Vanishing Point Challenger. My car has also been seen in the Edmunds comparo vid between old and new Challengers, a French documetary with the original director of the film and most recently on the cover of Motor trend Classic as we too visited the original VP film sites.
I am in southern California and if you guys are in the area during your trip, maybe I could meet up and bring the Challenger.

The producers for that music video contaced me for a white 70 Challenger. I put them onto Randel (Cometstorm I think was his handle) who ran the VP clone website. He put them onto you.

It's a small world isn't it? :D
