it happens 3 or 4 times a year ,there was a guy that lost his family, 2 kids and his wife in the same canyon the boulder crushed there car and he was the only survivor, and the night that this slide happened , he was on that very same road just 2 hours before the slide, so yes it happens here alot especially with the warmer tamps loosen the rocks
,there was a bus on one of the passes that a boulder tore it open like a can opener, 3 people died,
a little closer to me the town George town(we were there) was where my family homesteaded(from Ireland) ,there was a rock slide that killed 2 of my cousins,while they slept a boulder came down and destroyed there home and them too! so yes ITS THE ROCKIES
The Dept of Transportation is doing work on both sides of the Gorge, to reduce rockfall. This has been done for years. Now, we get an overhaul. The canyons of I-70 look a lot like were I live.
